From the Pros at Sportline, and those who retain their amateur status at Fantasy Basketblog.

I would blockquote, but I’m just going to suggest reading all of what is there.

Ray Allen and Michael Redd

I don’t want to take the time to make a table and format it and everything… but I have both of these guys on my FantasyBasketball.com league, and it’s scary how similar they are.

The number are Ray then Redd…

G: 52, 53
MIN: 39.1, 39.0
PTS: 24.8, 24.7
FGM: 8.7, 8.3
FGA: 19.6, 19.1
FG%: 44.5, 43.7
3PM: 3.4, 1.9
3PA: 8.6, 4.8
3%: 40, 39.5
FTM: 4.0, 6.1
FTA: 4.4, 7.1
FT%: 91.2, 86.7
OR: 1.1, 1.2
DR: 3.1, 3.1
REB: 4.2, 4.3
AST: 3.4, 2.9
TO: 2.3, 2.3
STL: 1.5, 1.2
BLK: 0.2, 0.0
PF: 1.9, 2.1

The only appreciable differences are in 3-pointers and Free Throws, where Allen does more of the former, while Redd does more of the latter.

Summing up the trade deadline action

Brendan does an excellent job of summing up the trade action that went down this week

I could probably do that well if I had 8 hours a day and was a freelance writer for About.com. But since I also have to try to figure out what this guy is talking about, I’m just going to have to leave the analysis of players like Vitaly Potapenko and Marc Jackson to the pros.

Normally I wouldn’t care about Nachbar

But this was too good to pass up

It’s too bad no big names were moved. Earl Watson doesn’t count if you ask me, and neither does Boston Snackbar. So, back to basketball…I hope.

That is classic.

And, yeah, does anyone really want me to waste their time reporting on the stuff that’s going on? All you need to know is Ruben Patterson. And Earl Watson. And if you didn’t move on Earl Watson as he steps up from a #3 PG to the second string… you’re probably out of luck already.

Finally, Ruby Red Patterson will get to cool off in that silky blue that the Nuggets wear. I can’t imagine Greg Buckner continuing to get 30+ minutes per game when a player like Patterson is available. That said, Ruben was getting 23 minutes in Portland, and only managed 11 points and 3.4 rebounds. Hey, sky’s the limit!

Give The Knicks The Rock

So pretty much the Knicks are just trying to get a ton of people who all need the ball in their hands to be effective? (Credit to TJ at Orlando Magic Fan, and Henry Abbott at True Hoop)

I think, despite the talent gap, that Orlando got the best of this trade. If they can realize the potential of having Darko, D-How, Ariza, DeShawn Stevenson, and Jameer Nelson as a lineup, then they’re pretty set (by Realize The Potential, I mean: if those guys all play like they should be able to). The Knicks, on the other hand… I don’t even know where to start…

Ariza might be a good pick up here, since Grant Hill is anything but a certainty. Of course, seeing how much Darko is playing down there doesn’t really bode well for Trevor. Other than that… I’m going to have to leave you hanging… I would say go out and get Jameer Nelson, but at this point in the season, you need someone who is going to contribute right away. No time for waiting.

Let’s see… the Knicks are pretty talented, but kind of in the way that the last Team USA was… the pieces just don’t look like they’re going to fit. That said, it’s not like there’s anything that’s going to prevent Francis from getting 16, 5, and 5. At least until Marbury gets back… then, who knows how that lineup is going to work… It’ll be interesting to see what Nate Robinson has to say about the trade… that is, if they let him blog about it.

Let’s all give Isiah a big, Ooooooooooo-tay!

SI.com - NBA - Sixers announce guns-for-tickets program - Tuesday February 21, 2006 5:34PM

The Philadelphia 76ers and police officials Tuesday announced a program aimed at curbing gun violence by exchanging tickets for guns.

The one-week program opens Wednesday. Anyone can bring a working gun into a city police station and exchange it for a voucher good for a pair of tickets to an upcoming 76ers game, no questions asked.

So, Sebastian Telfair just wanted to get tickets for a 76ers game, right?

Is this the 1-on-1 game that Yay Sports so desperately wanted?

It appears that Shaq is beating Chris Webber at 1-on-1 on his home floor (so this must have been a few All-Star games ago).
