For those who are confused, I’m going by game time for my blog and PMad is using wall clock time for his structure.
11:23 – Shaq’s gotta put that down. Going to the line is not acceptable for him anymore.
Whoa! I thought that second was way off line, but it goes.
10:31 – Hate Antoine all you want, you have to admit he’s entertaining to watch.
10:31 – Big ups to the announcers for explaining every rule as it comes up, no matter how simple, obvious, or inconsequential.
9:32 – I think this game is over already. Might be time for PMad to go to bed. He’s certainly held his own better than Miami has.
8:35 – I thought James Posey had the PUJIT there! I guess they need a higher % shot than that right now, though.
8:23 – Underhand Shaq! Mathematics is on your side! Underhand for Heat’s Sake!
7:35 – Seems like Dallas is picking up a lot of foul calls right now. That won’t keep happening in the 4th. The Heat aren’t capitalizing on the fouls at all, anyway, though.
I thought the Lady in the Water was going to be the bad guy in that one. That’s much scarier than some grass wolf thing. Lame.
PMad just said that the double-team on Shaq is working, and I have to agree. The Mavs are making other people take shots and they’re not hitting them.
4:29 – I’m thinking maybe Shaq is being more of a crutch than a help right now. Everyone’s thinking that he has to get his touches for Miami to win, but I’m thinking maybe they need to let Wade take over and just take the ball to the hoop every time down. Then he can flip the alley-oops to Shaq, or let the big guy get some hopefully easy offensive rebounds.
3:46 – Okay, he just traveled taking it to the hoop… so maybe that’s not the best strategy.
2:49 – Looked like Wade took that charge from Dampier right there, but when things are going right, sometimes you can’t turn it around…
Commercial Break – PMad is still up, despite being on the East Coast, and watching a blowout of a game. Props.
Is there anything else that I hate more than those Citibank identity theft commercials? I don’t think so.
1:56 – Gary Payton dribbles into Alonzo Mourning. They’ll be watching that on the TruthBox tomorrow. He’s lucky that Walker bailed him out by actually making a shot.
0:38 – Mourning almost had that defensive rebound from the free-throw stolen away twice! Twice! Could you be a little less careful? Do you even want to attempt a comeback?
End of the Third Quarter
PMad agrees with me in letting Wade take over the game. I don’t know… if they’d cut the deficit to less than 20, I might be more in favor of that. I don’t know if it’s even possible to come back at this point. But then, there was a team from Portland that did that in the Western Conference finals one time. But that was a Game 7, as well. A lot more pressure in a Game 7 than a Game 2.
So, now that Stackhouse is back on PMad’s fantasy team, does that mean he doesn’t score again in the game?
10:42 – Okay, good, it looks like the Heat aren’t ready to give it up just yet. Gotta have that attitude in the Finals. Too bad they still can’t make free throws.
10:10 – I might actually watch some of that USA World Cup game…
Aight, looks like PMad has checked out – the Heat were still down by 22 when he wrote that he might be calling this one. I’m not so sure after the Heat have scored the first 8 of the fourth. He did promise to eat his underwear if the Heat win, so that will make it all more enjoyable if they do manage to pull it out.
6:36 – Just when I think there’s hope, I remember that the Mavs have Dirk.
5:47 – J-Will needs to cool it with the PUJIT. This is the Finals, dude.
And, you’re down by 16. If it were tied, or even a 3 point game, okay. Not in a 16 point game.
4:55 – I don’t know if that was really off of Dampier… maybe the refs have been paid to try to make it a closer game?
3:28 – Once again, not sure about that foul call on Harris, but I guess I’ll take it…
3:13 – Posey fouls out. That’s a big loss. Oh, you get 6 fouls in the NBA? Thanks, I might not have known that. And if I didn’t, I’m sure it really matters for me watching this game.
2:10 – Oh, right, almost forgot again… the Mavs have Dirk. Did he even know where the hoop was when he shot that? I sure as hell wouldn’t have…
1:50 – I’m not sure why Mourning is any better to have in than Shaq? The only difference is that Shaq gets doubled every time, whereas Mourning doesn’t… but when you have Wade and Williams and even Walker driving the lane, then there’s no reason to double the guy in the middle, and it seems like it’s actually more likely that he (Shaq in this case) could get open for a pass and follow it up with a dunk. If I were Riley, I’d be going to Wade’s strength next game and drive-n-dish every time down. If Wade can draw an extra defender (or two) going to the hoop, a dump off to the big man in the middle becomes almost trivial. And it’s much hard to prepare for Wade’s innovation off the dribble than it is to prepare for the dump down low to Shaq.
