Gilbert Arenas just is raising the altitude in his house to raise his fantasy draft position. I remember Nike did this in Portland (OR) a while ago (maybe still do) with marathon runners to try to start winning some races against the Kenyans and Ethiopians (and, well, every other country that was beating all the American distance runners). Not sure if they’re still doing it…
The Basketball Jones says something about the Houston Rockets’ Point Guards. It’s got a pretty flash videos from YouTube. Is that enough to make you click over?
Fantasy Basketblog’s team preview of the New York Knicks. Yeah, you’ll need all the help you can get when it comes to that team.
NBA.com’s team preview of the New Jersey Nets. Also on NBA.com, the draft at the Premier Fantasy Championship has started. I’m not sure if you can really gain anything from it, though, since their system is intentionally non-standard. After clicking around a bit, I have to ask, How much fun must it be to write like a real sportswriter about a made-up fantasy league? Sure, I could try, but since none of my leagues (so far) are public (as far as I know), it makes it much harder for people to actually understand what is going on.
As if 2 previews weren’t enough, Golden State of Mind links to Fanball.com’s preview of the Warriors. Of course, their review is pretty short (I think GSoM’s post is almost as long as the review), and it clearly lacks the number of cheerleader pictures that will probably be present when Rachel gets around to doing her review of the Warriors.
Passion & Pride (a 76ers blog), takes some educated guesses at who will be the 5th starter for Philly. That might have some fantasy relevance in deeper leagues. I think they should go with the guy who’s dunking the new NBA ball in the picture at the top of the post. Obviously he’s not having trouble getting that space age synthetic material into the hole like everyone else says they’re going to.
