That’s right, Give Me The Rock has put on 30 pixels in the offseason. Must be all the Midnight Snacking. Oh wait, it actually is the Midnight Snacking! You’ll see the new Midnight Snacks widget (as I have named it) over on the right (if you’re reading this in a news and/or RSS reader, now would be a good time to click through). The Midnight Snacks are presented in deep, rich, dare I say tantalizing, Midnight Blue, and they’re nearly 250 pixels wide – hence the need for the extra space here at Give Me The Rock (the old right-nav was only 200 pixels).
But what are the Midnight Snacks? you say.
Quite simply, they are the 10 most recent articles that I have “shared” via my Google Reader. If you prefer to see these pop up in your Google (or any other brand) Reader, you can subscribe to this URL. And if you know how many links I have further down in the right-nav, you’ll know why it’s good to have me pick out the relevant fantasy basketball information for you. It’s what I do, and I love it. And now, it’s incredibly fast for me to gather that information, which means more timely consumption by you allowing for executive decisions to be made faster and with more precision and accuracy.
While we’re on the topic of Midnight Snacking – I will have another Midnight Snack Club announcement coming soon.
AND FINALLY! The “redesign” has another added benefit. The main column is now 40 pixels narrower! How is that a benefit? you say. Well, studies have proven that when reading on the internet (especially in sans serif fonts), you can actually read faster when the column containing the content is fairly narrow.
Chew on that.
