A couple of unrelateds floating around my head today:

Nels has already posted about this, but as an appease to the secret society of evil clowns, I’ll throw out another link to the Carnival of the NBA #37 (CarnEvil of the NBA) up on The Rising Suns Blog.

I was lucky enough to be in attendance for the Celtics loss to the Jazz this past Friday. After witnessing that mess, I cannot stress the following point enough: until Doc Rivers is fired, the only two Celtics that belong on any fantasy team are Paul Pierce and Wally Szczerbiak. That’s it. Doc Rivers’ rotations are just insane right now, and even guys who could be contributors to both the Celtics and fantasy teams, like Delonte West and Ryan Gomes, aren’t getting consistent minutes or roles. Don’t bother stashing any Celtics on your bench in hopes that they suddenly get 25 minutes a game consistently, because it’s not going to happen.

Fire David Stern is up… for now. I can already see Stern mobilizing the robots.

Finally, Zack Francis’ Rookie Radar on Dropping Dimes got me thinking about the really slow start this year from the rookie class. In fact, Rudy Gay is currently the highest rated rookie on the player rater at number 134. I think the fantasy crowd has gotten use to all the great rookie performances over the past few years, with Chris Paul, Emeka Okafor, Lebron, Wade, Amare Stoudemire, etc, that we might have to readjust our perspective on first year players. At least until next year.
