Nels goes to set up an email account for a new writer at Give Me The Rock. After establishing the account, he goes to the “forwarding” area of the email management. There he comes to the slow, numbing realization that there is no forwarding for nels [at] givemetherock. It was there when he set up the email account nearly a year and a half ago, but it’s not there now.

He quickly clicks over to the webmail login, typing as fast as his nimble fingers will go; stumbling like never before over words like “give” and “rock.” The Inbox finally appears revealing 936 unread emails. After deleting 899 spam and comment moderation emails, he is left with 37 emails in the Inbox.

24 of those 37 authors are listed above.

I… I don’t even know. I don’t know where to start except to say I’m sorry for not replying to your emails. Most especially Jon Loomer who I criticized on this very site. He was nice enough to email me again after that asking why I was being so mean. Well, Jon, I’m an ass. I’d like to blame my hosting company since I’m certain that something happened there that cleared my forwarding address… but I should be responsible enough to make sure that everything works as it should.

Reading all those unanswered emails has humbled me. And also lead me to create givemetherock [at] gmail.com. I’ve already tested that the emails are forwarded to my regular email, so any further correspondence should be received and replied to in a timely fashion. I have also updated the email in the upper right there, so you won’t have to re-find this post if you want to email. You will have to remove the NOSPAM part, though.

Once again, I am very sorry to all the people to whom I did not respond. I will try to do that soon. If you are concerned or still would like a response, please use the new email address to tell me how you waited with Inbox open just hoping for a reply from me. Or just that you never got a response, and you think I’m an ass.
