This post is not fantasy basketball related… but actually I guess it could be if you use YouTube to check out players that you might want to draft or pick up as free agents.
Evidently, the Stern is going to have YouTube pull all the content copyrighted by the NBA. I kind of, sort of felt this one coming. I’d say more, but really, Preetom at HoopsWorld says exactly what I would say anyway, so just go read his article.
Now, rather than try to figure out how to start a petition against this action by the league’s lawyers, or having people leave a whole bunch of comments on a site like this that David Stern is probably never going to read… The story from HoopsWorld is already posted at Digg. Just go over there and digg the story.
If you feel the need to do more (as I do) then leave a comment here. And if you still want to do more, email Preetom Bhattacharya (the Editor at HoopsWorld).
And if you feel as strongly as I do about bringing this issue to Stern’s attention, you’ll post on your blog (and link to this post and the one on HoopsWorld). And if anyone knows Mark Cuban, don’t bother contacting him, because he won’t say anything about it, since he’s on good behavior this season.
And in the meantime, check out Birth of a New Age: The Birth of Flight on YouTube before it’s gone. It’s a classic class act.
Another one you HAVE to see is Nate Rob shutting down The Dynasty (aka Yao’s Eco-ectomy courtesy of Basketbawful). I’m sure that one is on NBA.com’s highlight reels somewhere, and if they showed their videos in Flash, I’d be okay with that. But their version of Windows Media Player doesn’t work half the time in Firefox, and although I was hyped enough during that playoffs last season that I did open up Internet Explorer, I really just don’t feel like it anymore.
