Here’s the add drop report for the Dropping Dimes Expert’s League for December 19-20. I bring this first set of drops/adds to your attention not because ANYONE should be dropping Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph for Martell Webster and Linas Kleiza. Rather, I point this out as a very good lesson in identity theft. This owners brother – his BROTHER!! – was on his computer and came across his fantasy team and decided to drop Curry and Randolph for him.
Eddy Curry (NY – C) Drop: Waivers
Zach Randolph (Por – PF) Drop: Waivers
Martell Webster (Por – SG,SF) Add: Free Agents
Linas Kleiza (Den – SF,PF) Add:Free Agents
He picked up Webster and Kleiza just in case our Commissioner decided to be an ass an not let him undo the damage that had been done. Seeing as this team was/is currently in 4th place, it’s understandable that this was obviously a mistake. Steps are being taking to remedy the situation, but just keep in mind that the Commissioner of your league might not be so compassionate. Especially if it’s a public league where sometimes people just do stupid shit.
So, don’t think identity theft is something that people just talk about on TV. It can happen in the fantasy basketball world, and even possibly to you (provided that you have a malicious sibling, or have recently lost your computer or something). The solution here is to log out of Yahoo if you think someone else is going to be using your computer. I know it’s a pain, but it’s better than trying to deal with the implosion of your fantasy team.
Now, on to some real adds/drops (in chronological order):
Jared Jeffries (NY – SG,SF) Add: Free Agents
Andrew Bynum (LAL – C) Drop: Waivers
Jason Williams (Mia – PG) Add: Free Agents
Jared Jeffries (NY – SG,SF) Drop: Waivers
Sum total: Adding Jason Williams for Jared Jeffries. If someone is dropping Jeffries in your league, it might actually be worth picking him up. Of course, he was already a Free Agent in this league and everyone was content to leave him there. He’ll be out for another 3 games, but he was putting up decent numbers in the 4 games he played so far this season. And I think we can all believe that Isaih is in love with him for one reason or another.
J-Will has been pretty inconsistent this season, so I’d wait until he’s played at least a couple games, but if you need the assists, threes, and FT% he’s a decent pick up.
Kwame Brown is the starting C for the Lakers now, so Bynum’s run – if he really had a run – is over. Kwame’s FT% sucks, but to add a hint of strategy to this post, let me drop a verse for you:
You take the good, you take the bad,
you take them both and there you have
The facts of life, the facts of life.
Word.
