From About.com by D-Vel aka Dennis Velaso aka First Place in the Dropping Dimes Experts League right now:

The Boston Celtics’ “Mr. Do Everything,” Paul Pierce will miss at least three weeks of playing time due to a stress reaction in his left foot, suffered against the Denver Nuggets (those Nuggets are nothing but trouble they are!) and aggravated against the Golden State Warriors last night in a heatbreaking 96-95 loss. The timing is bad for the Celtics as they will go on a five-game West Coast trip after hosting the hapless Philadelphia 76ers Friday night. So, expect a win before heading West for the Celtics.

Not to down Dennis, but the Boston Ticker days 2-3 weeks, which is a little different than “at least 3 weeks.” Either way, though, go pick up Delonte West and/or Gerald Green right now.

West has actually been playing pretty decently, so if you can handle the FG% there, he’s a pretty good pickup.

I’m gambling with Green right now, though, since I don’t want to take on Mr. 37%. I’m struggling with the percentages (something I’m planning on writing about soon), and I am doing well enough with everything else that I can afford to be a little choosy. If you are looking for the sure thing to fill up the box score, I’d go with Delonte. As I said, I’m gambling with Green, and you gotta know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em.

Your results may vary.

  • Alright, I'm with you, RotoPoll. I've dropped Green and picked up West. I even considered putting him (or Travis Outlaw) in for Tayshaun Prince. They're all playing 4 games this week (starting the 25th), so I'm sticking Prince.
  • Delonte will get his FG% up. He was a solid 49% last year. And he's gradually trending up for the season:
