Our love is like a flock of doves, flying up to heaven above… always and forever, always and forever… Why do you need me? Why do you love me? Always and forever…

- Kip Dynamite

To start the new year, Kevin Garnett resolved to love the old ball like he’s never loved anything in his life and scored 32 points – going 12 of 18 from the floor and 8 of 10 from the line. In the same game, Matt Carroll, while not ready to fully commit to a lifetime with the old ball, showed his growing admiration by giving it a promise ring and scoring 23 points on 7 of 13 from the field, including 5 of 8 from behind the arc. And then, last night, Jameer Nelson publicly stated his deep, bottomless love for the old ball both before and after scoring 29 points on 69% shooting. Matt Barnes, Ray Allen, and the Parisian Casanova, Yakhouba Diawara, vigorously fought for the old ball’s attention by hitting over 50% of their three-point attempts. And at least for one night, the notorious bad-boy Ron Artest had his black heart melted by sweet song of the old ball, scoring 39 points on 68% shooting. At the end of the night though, it was Ben Gordon who took the ball home after scoring 41 points. He was a little rough – shooting 13 of 25 – but that’s the way the old ball likes it. Omar Epps

  • Even with the risk factors there, DW, SS, nor GG are going to make up for the difference between a combined Joe Johnson and Zach Randolph vs. Kevin Garnett.

West is a big injury risk himself since no one knows how many more games he'll be out before he actually starts playing again. Even when he does, it'll probably be at least a few games before he starts putting up his usual numbers (which is the only scenario in this case in which you break even on the trade).

Swift and Green are still inconsistent at best.

thanks guys. Another thing I'm afriad of is injuries. Joe Johnson has the turf toe and Zach's surgically repaired knee is bothering him.

I agree with Patrick, your team does not seem deep enough to over come the loss of both those guys in a 2 for 1.
  • My first indication was to say YES! go and pull the trigger immediately. It's not everyday you can trade for a first rounder. But, when I actually went and looked at the numbers (I do it because I care) they just don't add up. Both Johnson and Randolph score more than Garnett and Randolph hits just as many FTs. The only category where you'd be better off is blocks. In a standard 8-cat league, it be possible to rationalize the trade, but with your extra scoring categories, it just doesn't make sense.

Hey guys, i have a deal on the table I don’t know if I should do:

I give up Joe Johnson and Zach Randolph for Kevin Garnett. Here is the rest of my roster without these guys:

    Bibby
    Tony Allen
    Hedo
    Lebron
    Caron Butler
    Iggy
    Wilcox
    Pachulia
    Monta Ellis
    Rashaul Butler

I will be either picking up David West, Stromile Swift, or Gerald Green after this trade. We also count FGM and FTM in this league, so scoring is very important.

    please help
    thanks!
  • Everyone likes it a little rough sometimes.
