So, Nick Collison unexpectedly blew up last night with a 20/20. He played 43 minutes, shot 12 of 18, had 29 points, 21 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and a block. An amazing statline coming from any player. If you have an expendable roster spot I would pounce on picking up Collison, I missed making the pickup because i decided to mull it over a game of FIFA. I came to the conclusion that I should pick him up, it would be his second stint with my team this year, I came back to find that I should play 4 minute halves instead of 6 minute halves. I have some points I want to highlight about last nights game because Collison should not be considered a permanent solution to your problems and if you have a trade on the horizon, do not cancel it because you picked up Collison.

- Both 29 points and 21 rebounds are career highs for Collison, expecting close to these figures would be an exercise in the display of naivety rivaling Neville Chamberlain.
- Collison logged a career high 43 minutes last night. Two other players on the team logged 44 minutes slightly edging him for team highs. These minute totals are an exception not the rule. The last time a Sonic logged 43 minutes was on December 26th against the Hornets. The player was Ray Allen and the span between then and now encompassed ten games. Clearly, expecting these minutes would be Neville Chamberlain esq.
- Collison is the ‘sure starter‘ now. We forget, that Bob Hill has already given him this power once this year. After having this honor bestowed Collison quickly blew it.
- Chris Wilcox only played 22 minutes.
- The Sonics are tanking hard and fast. The more the season wears on, the more role players, *cough* Collison, will lose minutes to the prospects. The Sonics have two huge projects in Johan Petro and Saer Sene at center; a 13 and 23 season seems like a good time to start working.
In other news, I found a sweet video about US National Team Soccer player Oguchi Onyewu on youtube. I bring this up because if Onyewu were not a soccer player, I could see him being in the NBA. At 6′4 and 210, he has that special body type that endears itself to any type of competition. Imagine how good our National team would be, if every great American athlete grew up with a soccer ball next to their football, basketball and baseball.
Also, Jason Kidd just filed for divorce. A last second edit.
