Unfortunately, this post is not one of them.
For everyone out there who plays in leagues with weekly lineup changes, I’m offering my very own weekly games Excel spreadsheet for download. And it’s free (it’s worth at least three times that much). I made it because I don’t like looking at those crazy schedule grids with every week of games in one giant table (as useful as they are). The schedule grid that I created shows each teams’ games for only the current week and the next week, thereby making it a quick and painless way to set your weekly lineups without risking retina burn as you attempt to navigate a 25 by 30 table full of numbers. It also automatically updates the week for you on each Monday, to protect against the classic “set your team based on the wrong week” move.
It all sounds great, I know. You’ve probably been wishing for such a miracle product while suffering through the frustration of giant tables and confusing numbers. But, alas, everything is not all peaches and cream. The spreadsheet doesn’t provide you with any witty commentary like the better weekly guides do, such as Fantasy Basketblog. It’s not going to tell you who to start and who to bench. I guess it’s also a requirement that you have your computer’s internal calendar set correctly for weekly updating. And it’s in Excel, because I enjoy rockin’ like it’s 1995. Someday my programming skills with advance beyond Turbo Pascal. Until then, I’m Excel’s little bitch.
Again, if you’re looking for a quick and easy schedule grid and happen to love Microsoft Excel, take a gander. I’ll be honest, there are more interesting weekly guides out there, and I often use this spreadsheet in conjunction with other sites that provide commentary. I felt bad letting this file rot away on my computer. It’s time to set it free, for better or worse.
