or: How Ben Gordon cost me a week of Celtics posts by Point Shaving
or: How Luol Deng said the Bulls are going to win the next 17 games and they’re doing it so far
Anyone want Ben Wallace on their fantasy team now? How about Ime Udoka? Yeah, I don’t really either, but he’s all I’ve got until Linus Klieza joins my lineup next Sunday (thanks to the weekly roster settings in the Dropping Dimes Experts League). But I digress.
The point is that the Celtics were awesome enough to beat the spread yesterday by a whopping 1.5 points, thus damning me to a week of writing about how awesome they are and how great Boston is. I’ve never been there, so actually, this will be a good time to check out what there is to do when I do finally get there. Which will be eventually, cause it’s one of those places that you have to see at some point.
Of course, the real point is, how could Ben Gordon only take 7 shots? Yes, I realize that Tyrus Thomas scored 23 points on 9-14 shooting, and Ben Wallace somehow hoisted 21 shots, but I’m pretty sure Gordon was shaving some points along the way to make sure that the Celtics were inside that 9.5 point spread.
Patrick also wanted to see another Summer Movie Blockbuster Spectacular, and actually I’ve been thinking about a particular flavor of that for a while now, so it would be wise to prepare yourself for that awesome nonsense.
Until then, Go Celtics. Oh, I mean Bulls. That green uniform thing was confusing me, too. But I still want one. Cause I’ll buy any of those cheap marketing ploys the NBA throws out there.
