Fantasy Team Preview: Minnesota Timberwolves

Note: Technically, the Timberwolves are the next team on the list for a fantasy preview, but we’ve already given them a full fantasy run down in “Hey, Minnesota was Involved in a Trade: Al Jefferson to Wolves”.

A quick summary of that post: After macerating the Wolves, Kevin McHale’s team looks like this:

PG: Randy Foye
SG: Ricky Davis
SF: Trenton Hassell
PF: Al Jefferson
C: Mark Blount

Bench: Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Rashad McCants, Ryan Gomes, Corey Brewer, Mark Madsen, Juwan Howard, Marko Jaric.

I forgot to put Jaric on the Wolves’ bench in the first post, but apparently he’s still on the team.

The PTI one-minute-left-rundown of the Timberwolves. Ricky Davis becomes the “leader” on this team by default and should see a slight uptick in his counting stats, the Wolves have committed to building a team around Al Jefferson and I think he’s in for a big year, league switch or not, Randy Foye is a sleeper, unless everyone starts talking about him, in which case he’ll have to settle for being good, Mark Blount, marginal second center, Trenton Hassell’s best fantasy category is “minutes” so someone should nominate him for the Jeff Foster All-Stars, Ryan Gomes is a hard worker but I wouldn’t be rushing to draft him, keep an eye on Corey Brewer who may get an opportunity to play on a team that doesn’t have to worry about the playoffs

GMTR Draft Prediction

Al Jefferson: 4th Round
Ricky Davis: 5th
Randy Foye: 8th-9th
Mark Blount: 12th+
Corey Brewer: Watch
