Thanks for your input grover. Great point about the fantasy competition within CBS leagues. That's something I totally missed mentioning in the post. I've played in a bunch of public Yahoo leagues before and the competition is actually not all that bad. Another point in Yahoo’s favor. Well, at least if you’re like me and don’t have any friends.

I've not experienced ESPN's site, but I can wholeheartedly concur that the CBS site is rubbish.

While it gives good stats, the overall layout of the site is incredibly confused. Also, the default settings for league play are a bit underwhelming.

I stopped checking my CBS team about 1/3 of the way through the season. Still wound up 5th out of 12, another minus for CBS. There's just no way that should happen when facing decent fantasy competitors.

I actually did a draft for the HoopsAddict.com league there last Sunday. I wasn't able to even enter the draft room until Jon Loomer himself (who happens to be in the league) had the tech team pause the draft until he could get in (and as a result, I got in too). Of course, it seemed like about half the league got in with no problem, so I don't know what the deal is and haven't heard anything further from Jon or the tech team (who I contacted at the time of the draft).

That said, once I did get in, yes it was slow. Not as painfully slow as Anonymous made it seem, but it definitely had some lag issues.

And one other note: If you select someone in your Queue, you have to use the Queue Draft button to draft that player. The draft button next to their picture won't work.

Wow. Sorry to hear about your experience with NBA.com anon. That does not sound good.

I have not had the opportunity to try NBA.com's draft application - we did an offline draft in the league I'm in - so I can't comment directly on your experiences. I have noticed the NBA.com runs fairly slowly when moving from page to page, although its not a 30 second wait kind of slow.

Has anyone else live drafted on NBA.com? How was the experience?

WOW. i just drafted in the other keeper league of mine on nba.com. they said they made changes...and yeah they made changes alright. it is the WORST web application EVER in the history of all programming.

its EXTREMELY SLOW. so slow that when its your time to pick, your mouse click doesnt register until 30 seconds later, and so your pick has already passed and it picks RANDOMLY. Like Spencer Hawes random. So i have to queue players in the queue just to draft who i want. But then when you click a player to queue, it takes like 30 seconds for it to register that you clicked the player. by then youve already clicked on the queue button but all youve done is highlight a player. then when re-ranking the queue, it will say "player undefined" when moving player up or down.

anyway, i could write even more about how it crashed my browser, and after 30 minutes, i would have to restart the browser....by the 4th round people were asking to move it to yahoo even though theres no keeper option. we were willing to do it manually, or though an online chat or something. anything but this.

when people go to hell, they have to draft 30 team leagues on nba.com forever. it's that bad.

Thanks for checking in Jeff. I hadn't seen those poll results yet, it's great stuff. Funny how roto vs. head to head is 50/50. It's the great divide in fantasy basketball.

As far as the site ratings in the poll, I was surprised to see how high ESPN ranked. I've been nothing but frustrated with it, but it looks like ESPN has its fan base.

I kept meaning to post that and kept forgetting about it. Thanks for doing the survey!

Yup, your conclusion jives with the results of my fantasy survey (http://hoopsaddict.com/2007/10/09/fantasy-survey-results-show-cleveland-rocks/). Interesting where CBS, ESPN and Sporting News landed.
