Line of the Night: Manu Ginobili (9.3 game rating). 30 points, including the go-ahead basket with less than a minute left against the Grizzlies, to go along with 5 rebounds, 7 assists, five threes, and two steals. He also went 13 of 14 from the line. Whew. Says Ginobili, “I feel really fresh.†Which makes sense because he’s played in two games so far. Still, it was a stat sheet filling night.
Honorable Mentions: Allen Iverson (7.7), Richard Jefferson (7.6), Chris Paul (7.4), Dwight Howard (5.8), Danny Granger (5.2), David Harrison (4.7).
Goat of the Night: Lebron James (-5.2) Getting beat down by the Mavs and shooting 2 for 11 from the field is not the best way to assert your dominance and comfort everyone who took you in the first round of their drafts. Thank god Zydrunas Ilgauskas came to play, or that could have been even uglier than it was.
Dishonorable Mentions: Jason Collins (-9.8), Mo Williams (-5.7), Ben Wallace (-4.9).
