The Sonics lost to the Suns, but there’s no shame in that. I was only able to watch the first quarter of the game (being both east coast and employed during the day), but Kevin Durant and Chris Wilcox were rolling. From the game recap, it looks like they held a lead into the third quarter.

Line of the Night: Technically, Tracy McGrady had a better game score last night, but I’m handing out the award to Tayshaun Prince (13.5). Not only did the Pistons win, but he went for 34 points, 12 rebounds, and was perfect from the line. It’s the kind of game the Prince likes to pull out of his hat every once in a while just to get all of us overly excited about his potential.

Honorable Mentions: Tracy McGrady (14.4) and Steve Nash (12.3). Kevin Durant (6.9) had the tenth best game of the night according to the ratings.

Goat of the Night: No one was particularly horrible, but awards are made to be given out, and I’ll give out co-awards to Miami’s two headed monster at center – Shaquille O’Neal (-1.9) and Mark Blount (-3.6). Again, they weren’t LeBron James level horrible, Shaq just looked like he was playing in some other game that was occurring simultaneously in a different universe and Blount had one of those games that he used to pull on the Celtics all the time – 4 points on 2 for 7 shooting and 1 rebound. If you’re going to suck offensively, at least play some defense.

i want to know what you guys think about marcus banks. if he was on another team i think he’d be valuable, but the suns dont have enough minutes to go around. right?

Unless Nash goes down, Banks isn’t going to do anything fantasy-wise. Banks was kind of useful in 2005 when he got about 30 minutes per game for the Wolves (12/3/5), but averaging 12 minutes a game behind Nash isn’t going to cut it. Is he involved in any trade rumors?

Yeah, I think Banks is one of those guys who will be a tease. He’ll have some games where he’ll go off for like 15 and 10 and someone will pick him up and get 2 and 2 the next game.
