With only one game on the docket last night, there is not too much variety to this recap. Dallas beat Houston 107 to 98, McGrady took a lot of shots while Dallas looked like they had a more balanced attack. To spice things up, I was going throw in some Euroleague action and recap the Efes Pilsen vs Armani Jeans Milano game, but I wasn’t sure what exchange rate I needed to use on the stats.
Line of the Night: There were a number of solid players for Dallas, but this one goes to Jason Terry (5.9) for both his actual play and his stats. Terry turned the game around for Dallas in the late third and fourth quarters while Dirk and Josh Howard were on the bench and he finished with 31 points, a couple threes, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Honorable Mentions: Tracy McGrady (5.8), Yao Ming (4.4), Dirk Nowitzki (7.1), and Josh Howard (8.7).
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: DeSagana Diop (8.0). With Erick Dampier out of action, Diop is making the most of his extra playing time. In 39 minutes, he grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked 4 shots. He even managed to score 10 points. Is it all too good to be true though? Dampier should be back practicing with the Mavs this week and once he returns (next week?) Diop will be back to 20-25 minutes a game.
Goat of the Night: The Rockets’ point guards – Rafer Alston (1.5) and Mike James (-2.4). Alston had 8 points on 3 for 8 shooting and James had 8 points on 4 for 13 shooting. But even worse is the fact that they could only manage 1 assist between both of them in 50 minutes of playing time.
