Line of the Night: Paul Pierce (5.81). The main highlight here is Pierce’s 14 of 14 from the stripe in the Celtics win over Indy. That’ll put you well on your way to winning the FT% category this week. And of course, the 31 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block are nice too. Celtics? Still undefeated. And the way The Big Three are going right now, I’d almost believe they could go 82-0. It’s seriuosly not fair. Garnett (4.33) checked in with another double-double, adding 3 steals and 2 blocks.

Honorable mentions: Dirk (5.52) was very close to Pierce, but, well, the numbers don’t lie. Also, Amare (4.95), Kobe (4.75), Marion (4.73), McGrady (4.64).

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Fred Jones (4.46) checks in at #8 last night (right behind the guys listed above and tied with Danny Granger). Someone in the DroppingDimes Expert’s League just picked him up yesterday, but he’s still available in the GMTR Reader’s League. This may be fallout from the Starbury situation, and if it is, Jones is doing his best to let both Stephon and the Knicks know that the team doesn’t need Marbury. Nate Robinson (3.36) also helped out with that argument. If you have someone on your bench who you were waiting on, you might want to swap them out for Jones at this point.

Goat of the Night: Walter Herrmann (1.34). I think a lot of people picked up Herrmann in the last few rounds of the draft thinking he was a great sleeper pick. So far, he just seems like he’s asleep. Har har. Who writes this crap? Anyway, Herrmann only played 6 minutes last night. So, yeah, I’m not cool with that.

Dishonorable mentions: Wally Szczerbiak (1.25), Ricky Davis (1.36), Bonzi Wells (1.39)

Other Stuff Like This:

  • I actually came up with the exact same logic as Patrick and would agree completely.
  • Believe it or not, I’d actually go with Martell Webster. Antoine Wright put up decent numbers in his first start for the Nets (12/4/4 with 2 steals and a block), but with Carter out for about three weeks, he's the shortest term solution. Robinson put up a better game in his last game (18/3/5 with 2 threes and a steal) but Marbury is already back with the Knicks. Who knows how that’s going to work out, but between Marbury and Fred Jones, Robinson is going to have trouble getting onto the court. So, while I’m not wowed with any of the three, Webster gets my vote, simply because he’s going to get the minutes.
  • Joey
which one of those guys would you rather have on your team? 10 team h2h league…

Nate Robinson - always put up numbers when given the playing time, I like him a bit in this case because I’m looking for threes and steals.

Martell Webster - dropped him last night to pickup Randy Foye, but I can find a spot for him if I wanted to

Antoine Wright - News is out that Carter might miss 3 weeks, Wright will be given plenty of playing time and might put up some good numbers
