It’s a pretty close trade in my opinion. It basically boils down to trading a 2nd and 5th round pick (Martin and Maggette) for a 1st (Marion). I usually live by the always get the best player in a trade rule, but there is still a lot of uncertainly around Marion and if he’ll be traded from Phoenix. Martin is still an underrated player (he’s currently ranked 11th on the 8-cat player rater to Marion’s 8th), so the difference between Marion to Martin is not as huge as it might seem. If you’re getting Marion and Dalembert, that is a huge upgrade in rebounds and blocks and an equally big downgrade in points and threes. Which side I’d take would probably depend on the makeup of my team, but I kinda like the Martin/Maggette/Miller side of the deal. Of course, Brad Miller is one of those guys I always seem to have on my teams.

I watched most of the Nets game last night. Sean looked great, he could really be an Amare-lite. They were running pick-n-rolls with him and Kidd. The guy scored on alley-oops on a picknroll, a fast break, put back dunk, hit a jumper, and went 8-10 at the line. One time JKidd try to throw him an alley on the break when Sean barely crossed the 3pt line while in a crowd of 4-5 people. Jason Kidd obviously loves the guy.

Another thing I noticed is that he didn't really leave his man just to block a shot, which could've been a negative on his playing time. He challenged every shot he could and made ShaqFu double pump on a layup, causing a miss. He could have made 2 more blocks if Jason Collins didn't jump in there and bump the guy driving into the lane.
