Line of the Night: T.J. Ford (5.9). Ford at his best: 29 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and a couple steals. He was also 5 for 5 from the line and 12 fro 22 from the field. However, Toronto couldn’t keep up Golden State in the fourth quarter and lost last night 106 to 100.

Honorable Mentions: Dwight Howard (5.4), Paul Pierce (5.1), Rasheed Wallace (4.8), and Ron Artest (4.8)

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Amazingly, Jordan Farmar (5.8) had the second best line of the night in only 25 minutes of playing time. He went for 14/4/8 with 3 steals and a couple threes. Derek Fisher played as badly as Farmar did well, so it might only be a matter of time before the Lakers point guard of the future becomes the point guard of today.

Beno Udrih (4.8). Beno! Beno! Cut by the Spurs before the start of the season, Udrih went to the Kings as a backup when Bibby got injured. Now he’s starting (well, at least until Bibby returns). Last night he scored 23 and had 6 assists. Pick him up if you need some short-term PG help.

Goat of the Night: Monta Ellis (1.6). 8 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists and 4 turnovers in 22 minutes ain’t going to get it done. The problem is that Ellis is the odd man out in the Steven Jackson/Kelenna Azubuike Golden State sandwich (sorry, I couldn’t stop myself). From the game recap:

Nelson expects Golden State’s offense to be even more potent once forward Matt Barnes recovers from a dislocated finger and second-year guard Monta Ellis improves his passing.

There are a couple things wrong with that sentence. First, isn’t Ellis a third-year player? Second, it either assumes that something is wrong with Ellis’ passing stroke, like he’s in a passing funk, or that his passing will somehow magically improve, maybe through “experience” or “intangibles”. I vote for the first one.

Dishonorable Mentions: Time to get off the John Salmons (1.8) train, preferably two stops ago. He has been squeezed out of the rotation now that Artest is back, keep him on waivers until Artest does Tyrus Thomas (1.7) shot 1 for 6 and scored 4 points in a another Bulls blowout loss.
