Line of the Night: Raymond Felton (5.4) had 24 points on 7 for 12 shooting, added 10 assists, 2 steals, and a block for good measure in a Charlotte win over Portland. Felton is now ranked 51 on the player rater (73 if turnovers are included) which means he is what we thought he was.

Honorable Mentions: Pau Gasol (4.8) only scored 14 points, but he blocked 7 shots, Dwight Howard (4.8) went for 24 and 15, Rashard Lewis (4.7) had more rebounds (7) than threes (5), Deron Williams (4.7) scored 20 while shooting 8 for 11, and Gerald Wallace (4.6) scored 27 for the third straight game.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: In 22 minutes, Damon Stoudamire (4.3) went for 16 points and 7 assists. While Stoudamire is starting, Memphis’ point guard position is crowed and he is currently splitting time with both Kyle Lowry and to a lesser extent, Mike Conley. Stoudamire has averaged less than 20 minutes a game this season and that’s not likely to change.

In other point guard news, Steve Blake (4.2) went for 14/6/3 with 4 threes and Eddie Gill (3.9) – in his third game with the Nets – played 20 minutes, scored 12 points and hit a couple threes in in a blowout loss to the Jazz.

Goat of the Night: LaMarcus Aldridge (1.7). I thought about giving this one to Joel Przybilla (1.6), but hopefully nobody’s fantasy team is riding on the performance of Przybilla. Aldridge on the other hand has played pretty well this year, but hasn’t quite lived up to the level a lot of people thought he would when they drafted him in the second, third, or fourth rounds. Aldridge was limited to 20 minutes last night due to some foul trouble and finished with only 7 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist.

Other Stuff Like This:

  • Kris, if you can package Billups and Kirilenko for Lebron or another first rounder, you make that trade. Kirilenko's value is probably as high as it's going to be this year and his history suggests that he'll miss some time eventually. Billups has returned to action and I think he'll be fine. The one thing I wouldn't do is package both guys for anything less than a first round guy. I have Kirilenko in a couple leagues this year and on a daily basis I've been getting low ball offers from guys trying to steal Kirilenko from me. It's getting pretty annoying.

Jeff, many thanks for the complement. I've been having a lot of fun doing it, and on at least one occasion it help me pick up a waiver wire guy that I probably would have overlooked. So, that's cool. Nels has offered to help me out during the week, so hopefully we'll be able to keep the momentum going.
  • Hey Patrick, really enjoying your daily dose of fantasy lines (and a bit of humor). Hope you can keep it up!
  • KrisB
What do you think of Billups and Kirilenko? I was worried about them when I drafted them, but with their recent injuries, I'm nervous about them making it through the season. Do you think its a good idea to try and trade them now? I was thinking of trying to do a 2 for 1 with them, maybe try to get Lebron or some other 1st or 2nd rounder. What do you think?
  • Felton's only moving up that player rater - back to back solid games and J Rich/Crash are finally hitting their shots. Let the double-digit dimes commence!!
