Line of the Night: LeBron James (6.28). Well, 6.28 is a pretty sick rating. This year, it looks like LeBron is going to be worth the #1 pick. I mean, I don’t think people who took Kevin Garnett are going to be pissed. But people who took Kobe, Marion, and especially Dirk, might think differently otherwise after 82 games.
Honorable Metions: Chauncey Billups (5.34) had a breakout game. His first double digit assist game (15) and his 2nd time with 9 or more free throws.
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Well, since Antonio Daniels (3.94) is probably not available in any league anywhere (and if he is, your league is not competitive enough), the WWLotN is obviously Mr. Bostjan Nachbar (3.99). Five three-pointers will do that for you. Since I probably wouldn’t go out and pick him up, though, let me give you someone else…
Eddie House (3.39) seems like he’ll be more consistent than Nachbar. He had a rough 3-game stretch, but I think he’ll be a good source of threes this season with 2-3 per game, and if he can keep up a decent FG%, he should see enough playing time to get close to a steal a game as well as 3 assists and 3 rebounds.
Goat of the Night: I want to go with DeShawn Stevenson (1.15) with his 2/10 shooting on the night when I told people to pick him up. But since not too many people probably had him in their lineup for that game, we should probably really go with Kelenna Azubuike (1.29) who was only outplayed by Marco Belinelli because Belli got 3 rebounds. With the way Azubuike has been playing, I think a lot of people probably had him in their lineups, and going 1/7 with 1 three, 1 rebound, and 2 turnovers is a waste of a game.
Dishonorable Mentions: It’s too easy to throw Bonzi Wells in there again, but another Rocket, Luis Scola, fell hard after 2 breakout games. Chuck Hayes and Shane Battier got the minutes at the F positions, and Scola turned in 2 rebounds and 3 turnovers.
There’s others (I’m looking in Zach Randolph’s direction), but I have to hop a flight now… so, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! (Or at least those in the US)
