Line of the Night: Statistically, it’s a dead heat between Chris Paul (5.5) who put up a 33/9/12 with 3 steals and Ben Gordon (5.5) with a 34/4/5 and 5 threes. I’m going to pull a move out of Nels’ book (no, not stopping short, although I hear he’s a fan of that too) and give this one to Ben Gordon, who we are a little less likely to see here again than Paul. Paul’s stats do jump out to my unsophisticated mind a little more, but he didn’t have a particularly good shooting night and he took an overtime to get there. The Bulls have been ragged on all year, so let’s celebrate one today.

Honorable Mentions: Paul; Caron Butler (5.2) – very efficient in another Wizards win; signs of life from Ben Wallace (5.1) with 19 rebounds and 4 blocks; Tracy McGrady (4.9) dropped 40 on the Kings.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Sebastian Telfair (3.4). I thought I was surprised writing about Antoine Walker, that’s nothing compared to seeing Sebastian Telfair’s name up here. Telfair is starting for the Wolves after Marko Jaric does what he does best and injured himself (at least he has nice girl to fall back on, I hear). Telfair actually had a pretty little game yesterday – 16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals – although Minnesota got blown out by Memphis. I would never, ever, EVER recommend starting Telfair on any fantasy team, but Randy Foye is out for a few more weeks at least and if Jaric’s history is any indication, he won’t be back anytime soon. So there you have it. Sebastian Telfair is a starting point guard in the NBA again. And Ben Wallace is grabbing 19 rebounds in a game. What year are we in?

Jamario Moon (3.7) finished with 16 points 13 rebounds and a couple steals. It’s time that he’s picked up in every single fantasy league, regardless of the format. Damon Stoudamire (4.6) technically had the best waiver wire game of yesterday, and he did it in only 25 minutes. Too bad he’s averaging a measly 20 on the year.

Goat of the Night: Andrea Bargnani (1.2) followed up a terrific night in which he scored 26 points in a win against the Cavs with a 4 point, 2 for 13 shooting performance. Aren’t second year players supposed to become more consistent over their rookie years? Bargnani has been all over the place this season and before Chris Bosh’s recent injury, he had been coming off the bench.
