Note 1: NBA.com has decided not to update their stats from yesterday for some reason, so I was forced to either calculate my own game scores for the night or hand DeShawn Stevenson the line of the night for the second day in a row. The scores are basically the same as the NBA, although I don’t normalize mine to fit on a 1 to 10 scale, which is why you will see negative scores. Back to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow.

Note 2: I just noticed that Yahoo had added +/- to their box scores, following NBA.com’s lead. Welcome to the revolution!

Line of the Night: Kirk Hinrich (7.9) with a triple double last night – 15 points, 12 rebounds, 14 assists. He also added 2 steals and 3 blocked shots. Where did that come from? Was Hinrich saving his energy until the 21st game? Oh, wait. I think I might know the reason. The Bulls were playing the Knicks. With Marbury still out, Jamal Crawford started the game at the point for the Knicks and the rest of the story pretty much writes itself.

Honorable Mentions: 16 rebounds and 3 blocks from Chris Kaman (6.7); Vince Carter (5.4) had 32, 7, and 6; Welcome back to fantasy relevance Brad Miller (5.2), all it took was injuries to the Kings two best players; 16 assists from Jose Calderon (5.2); Zydrunas Ilgauskas (5.1) enjoys having LeBron back.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Jason Kapono (6.2) got some big minutes off the bench at the expense of Carlos Delfino (19 minutes) and Jamario Moon (15). Kapono came up HE-uge with 29 points off 9 of 14 shooting and 6 threes. He’s not going to contribute anything but threes and the occasional point outburst, so it’s probably best to leave him on waivers for some other sap to pick up and then drop two games from now. Plus, Toronto is stacked with forwards. Kapono, Delfino, and Moon are going to see inconsistent minutes all season.

With Crawford starting at PG and Q-Rich as a DNP, Fred Jones (2.3) slid into the starting SG spot for the Knicks and had a nice game for himself – 22 points, 6 assists, and 4 threes. Remember when Jones had that crazy breakout season for the Pacers in 2004? Yeah, it’s not 2004.

Goat of the Night: Out of respect to the deceased Eddy Curry (-10.1) – 0 points and 3 rebounds in 13 minutes – the GotN goes to Rasheed Wallace (-9.5) who had 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist in 28 minutes against the Hawks. Based on the score and the amount of rebounds from both teams, I can only imagine that it was an ugly, ugly game with Rasheed twirling his baton and leading the way. He shot 2 for 7, finishing with 4 points, and could only manage 2 of Detroit’s 45 total rebounds.

Dishonorable Mentions: Larry Hughes (-8.7) wanted to thank everyone who picked him up the other day by making 4 shots… out of 15 with 0 rebounds and 1 assist. Stick Hughes in the Bonzi Wells category for me, I just know they’re going to hurt me emotionally if I ever have them on any fantasy team ever again.

what do you guys think about Bargnani? Useless right? Droppable in a 10 team H2H daily league?

Bargnani could have some use once he fully gets back into the Raptors rotation, but in a 10 team league, yeah he’s droppable. There are probably some decent guys available in your league who are contributing right now.

we use customized settings for my 16 team h2h league. Is there anywhere I can go to plug in our settings to see who the best players are according to our settings instead of the general yahoo.com or nba.com settings? For example we do a weekly league where ppg, rpg, and apg are all worth 25 points a piece and blocks/gsmr and steals/game are worht only 15 points.

Have you checked out Basketball Monster? I believe they let you do stuff like that. For free, even.

Go to the site, click on player rankings, then it allows you to enter in your leagues scoring system and set up to create customized player rankings. Good luck.
