I hope everyone had a great Christmas/Hanukkah/Bodhi Day/Eid ul-Adha/Chrismukkah/Festivus or the very start of Kwanzaa.
Now back to work. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (via Brew Hoop) reports that Bobby Simmons will likely get the start today against Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets. Desmond Mason had been starting at the small forward position all year, but he tore his left thumb ligament last week and is out for the next 8 weeks or so. Charlie Bell started the Bucks last game at the 3, but he’s “only” 6-3, meaning he’d be toast against Carmelo.
So, it’s Bobby Simmons to the rescue. Although he has not played well this season, Simmons is currently the Bucks only healthy small forward (unless 6-11 Charlie Villanueva shifts to the 3). Bucks’ coach Larry Krystkowiak has said he’d like to get everyone in a regular routine with a traditional size lineup, which means Simmons as the starting SF with Bell coming off the bench to spell Simmons and Redd. Simmons had an awesome fantasy run a couple years back, so keep an eye on him or pick him now if you’ve got the extra space on your team.
