One of the lesser known facts at GMTR is that blogging involves more than pounding fists on a keyboard for 15 minutes (although it may seem that that way). Pretty much every single post on this site requires some kind of “research” – and I use that term loosely. Sometimes it means finding out whether it is appropriate to capitalize the Big Baby in Glen Davis’ name, sometimes it means reading a guy’s entire Wikipedia page for the most interesting thing to say about him, and sometimes it involves scouring the internet to find the perfect picture for a post.
In the above mentioned Wikipedia post that included a paragraph about Anthony Carter, I included a picture of Nuggets Cheer Team member Amber. Now, it’s important not to just throw up the first cheerleader picture I see and call it a day. GMTR has standards and I take these standards very, very seriously. It’s critical that I find the very best cheerleader picture… for the readers, you know. Sometimes this research can take hours as I carefully compare the merits of this cheerleader versus that one. But it’s all for you guys, I swear.
Nels has already expressed his opinion that every team should have a Cheer Team in addition to their dance team. His argument makes sense to me. I’m all for athletic woman playing dress up and running around a basketball arena. And I can see why a man would be interested in touching said women while at the same time getting a court level view of a professional basketball game.
That’s all fine and dandy, but for god sakes, don’t force me look at these men. There is no need to combine the pictures of all the cheer team members and force me to look at them. I should note that this point that the Nuggets’ cheer team picture section has no index and requires you to click through the pictures one at a time to get to the next person. That’s ridiculous. Come on, make my research easier and separate them out into a woman’s section and a men’s section, or at least give me some thumbnails.
For example, when I started the cheerleader search for the Day 67 post, I quickly stumbled upon Amber.
Amber ended up being included in the post (me likely brunettes). But the problem was that I just started the search, I hadn’t seen ALL the cheerleaders yet, and there was a possibility that the Nuggets have a cheerleader who is hotter than Amber (as noted in the comments on another post, the Nuggets have smoking cheerleader/cheer team squads). I couldn’t take that chance, so I moved to the next picture in the list and come across…
Warkim. Now, this threw me for a loop at first as I was expecting a slim female rather than a Warkim. But Warkim is a good looking guy, I guy who I know attracts his share of females, so this one was ok. Moving onto Courtney:
Courtney looks very similar to Amber. I liked Amber’s smile a little bit better, so she was still in the lead. Next up is… Scott.
Ok, at this point I’m starting to get a little bothered by this. Scott has that Euro vibe going for him – I’m sure he puts on a couple pounds of cologne after the daily manscaping session – but I’m really not interested in seeing Scott while researching. He’s not a bad looking guy, it’s just that he’s a guy. Anyway, the last best contender I come across was Jill.
The arm band is a nice touch by Jill. She looks like a girl you could play HORSE with.
But were not done yet. Oh no. No trip to the Nuggets’ cheerleading site would be complete without a visit from both Tyler AND Chad.
I’m not sure these men should be allowed to touch a woman, never mind be included on a cheerleading website. Tyler reminds me of a human version of Syndrome from the Incredibles, while Chad, I’m not sure what Chad reminds me of. All I know is that try to not give out a “whoa” when you come across Chad on a hunt for cheerleaders.
And of course, the final picture belongs to team “Cheer Coach” Steph.
I actually like that trend. I can’t wait to see George Karl in a uniform… without the mock turtleneck this time.
