Line of the Night: Chris Paul (6.43) was obviously pissed about having LeBron and Kobe overtake him as the leading candidate for Fantasy MVP. So what does he do? He takes advantage of a Shaqless/Matrixless Suns team to pour in 42 points on 54% with 4 threes, 5 rebounds, 9 assists (1 turnover, and 8 steals!

Honorable Mentions: Clearly the double-overtime helped Paul have his monster game, but it also acted as a rising tide for Steve Nash (5.62), who had 32 points and 12 assists. So, I’m thinking all the Suns have to do to maintain their fantasy values with Shaq on the team is to make sure every game goes into double OT. Earl Watson (5.62) tied Steve Nash by getting a triple-double last night; Corey Maggette did what Corey Maggette does (make lots of free throws), but he also added 5 steals to get into the #4 spot. Josh Smith was really close to a triple double, and Dirk Nowitzki actually had one. Deron Williams played well, and Amare Stoudemire had 26 and 20.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Thabo Sefolosha (4.55) played 42 minutes last night for the Bulls (Deng, Gordon, and Hinrich were sitting out injured). Sef had 22, 4, 6, 3 steals, and 2 blocks on 9-17 with 2 threes. I knew this guy was money the minute they drafted him (thanks to Matt from Blog-A-Bull), and it’s taken a while, but only because he hasn’t had the minutes to show what he can do. I picked him up in the DroppingDimes Experts League to fill in for Deng and Gordon (who are both on my team there). And for some non-fantasy-related commentary: I wish the Bulls had been able to trade Ben Gordon for a decent big man (could they have gotten back Pau Gasol for Gordon?), and just made Sefolosha the 2-guard.

Another option would be Kareem Rush, who had a decent night with 24 points and 3 threes.

The Biggest Loser: Al Thornton (1.46) played 20 minutes but missed 5 of 6 shots and only had 1 rebound and 1 assist to 3 turnovers. Kevin Martin (1.76) played 30 minutes but missed 9 of 10 shots.

Thought of the Night: There is no defensive 3 seconds when your team has the ball.

The refs were giving poor Tommy Heinsohn a heart attack last night. The Clippers just shouldn’t be allowed to shoot that many free throws. It just wasn’t fair to the Celtics.

By the way, do you think Tommy updates his MySpace page? If he does, do you think he uses a mouse or just screams at his computer until it does what he wants?

The Suns vs Hornets was a nice surpise. I’m not sure what Chris Paul EXACT stat was before going into over time but he only scored 2 points and 2 rebounds during the whole Double overtime if I’m not wrong.
