Line of the Night: Rick Davis (5.33) took over for Dwyane Wade (well, like a poor man’s Dwyane Wade) last night with 27 points, 6 assists, 4 threes, and 3 steals; he was 10/14 from the field. I didn’t bother posting yesterday when it was announced that Dwyane Wade was done because Ricky Davis was likely the only one who would see a real value increase, and since he was already on a team in all my leagues, I knew he was already valuable enough to be on a team in most leagues anyway. That said, if he’s still out there for some reason, grab him!

Honorable Mentions: When we start at only 5.33, there’s usually either a lot of parity (like everyone played crazy good), or it means there weren’t really any truly outstanding games. For last night – except for the Rockets winning their 19th – it kind of looks like more of the former. For every guy that had 3 steals, someone else had 3 steals. For every guy with 2 blocks, a bunch of people had 2 blocks.

Mike Bibby (5.17) had 23 and 6 assists with 5 threes and 2 steals; Hedo Turkoglu (5.12) came out with a triple-double: 23/10/13, adding 3 threes (no steals, no blocks); Cuttino Mobley (5.06) had 29/6/2 with 2 threes and 3 steals; Tim Duncan (5.01) had 23 and 18 with 3 blocks, and was 9/10 from the line (a notable achievement for Duncan).

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Already mentioned Ricky Davis, so next up would be Daequan Cook (4.07) with 23 points on 5 threes. He only shot 9/20, so he passes the 70% rule. He jumped from a season average of 20 minutes to 29 and 43 over the last 2 games. And his name is an uncommon spelling. Not that I know a common spelling of Daequan. I guess if you have a spot, go for it and see if he keeps up the minutes and performance while Wade sits.

The Biggest Loser: Just when you were wishing you had Nate Robinson (1.83) on your team, he follows up a 45 point performance with a line like this: 5/4/2, 1 steal, 1 three, 2 turnovers, with 2/14 from the field, and you breathe a sigh of relief.

Other Stuff Like This:

  • Where did Lebron James and his wussy triple-double fall on today's list Nels?
  • Because of LeBron's 7/18 (38%) FG shooting, and 9/13 (69%) FT shooting, he dropped to 8th place despite the triple-double. Right behind Rashard Lewis who had 22/6/4 with 4 threes on 50% (8/16) and 100% (2/2) shooting.
  • I called Ricky Davis, too. I'm hesitant to recommend Daequan Cook yet, though.
  • Ben
Ricky Davis aka the Trojan Horse will do his best to lead the Heat to the tanking promised land of 25% lottery odds. Davis gave the city of Cleveland Lebron James. Can he now deliver Michael Beasley to South Beach?
  • I like your thinking Ben. My money would be on that scenario coming true.
