If you’re here, you must be really dedicated to professional basketball. Or else you’re just hungover from last night’s Madness and looking for the weekly cheerleaderslashdancer picture. It’s at the bottom.

Line of the Night: It seems like only yesterday (for Illini fans, at least) that Deron Williams (6.48) was dominating March Madness in the Blue and Orange. Last night he dominated in the Blue and Light Blue with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 12 assists. He did have 5 turnovers, but also had 4 threes and a block. And he could have used some domination from his teammates.

Honorable Mentions: Tim Duncan (5.10) had 22 and 10 with 3 blocks and was 4/4 from the line! Paul Pierce (5.04) had 22 and 13 with a steal and 3 blocks, and made 10/13 free throws. Kevin Garnett (4.84) had 20 and 13 with a block and 3 steals (the perfect counterpoint to Paul Pierce), but shot only 7/22 from the field. Celtics still won, though, and have clinched the division. Dirk Nowitzki (4.77) had 22 and 19, but also had 6 turnovers and shot almost as poorly as Garnett with 8/20. After that, you start to realize that there must have only been 3 games played yesterday, because the strength of performances drop fairly quickly.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: It’s usually hard to pick a WWLotN when there’s so few games, but Vlad Rad (4.18) came up with another decent game in Pau Gasol’s abscence, going 5/6 from the floor and 3/4 from three point land. He ended with 13 points, 3 rebounds, and a steal. Yeah, like I said, only 3 games yesterday. I’m surprised there were any games at all, and even more surprised there are 10 games tonight. Does the NBA think people are going to watch professional basketball when they can watch college basketball? Surely not.

The Biggest Loser: Is it just me, or is Jason Terry (1.88) really the Biggest Loser in the Dallas-New Jersey trade? He’s already 3 minutes down from his career average this year, and is only averaging 22 minutes over the last 7 games (in none of which has he played more than 30 minutes). Last night he went 1/8 from the field, for 3 points, adding 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 turnovers.

Friday’s Tiny Dancer: In honor of Deron Williams, I was going to post a picture of an Illinois Cheerleader (since it’s probably one of the few times I could again away with such nonsense). But Jocelyn convinced me that it wasn’t that great of an idea.

Other Stuff Like This:

  • The Jazz know how to do a cheerleader page. Pics, wallpaper, video, splits. The only thing missing is a little nudity.

jocelyn is very convincing! Still not as convincing as the kings dancers from earlier this season. A little classier, sure. But when i need skank, Im heading a little further west for those kings dancers.
  • I dunno Nels, there have been some pretty good NBA games on recently. It used to be the case that the NBA was a little dry because there weren't many stellar teams, but with the competition in the west and the emergence of boston in the east, there is usually at least one high profile game each night.
  • Farid, I didn't mean to imply that the NBA is boring right now. I agree that the opposite is totally true. I'm very excited by the NBA right now, and am sort of under the impression that other people are as well.

Nels, good to see you're not above using some T&A to entice readers. Good to meet you in Mexico. My best to Val.
