The Suns showed how valuable Shaq can still be last night. The Big All Inclusive scored 8 of his 16 points in a fourth quarter where Phoenix shut down San Antonio – at home, no less.
In related fantasy news, Amare (4.25) retook the 4th overall spot for the season (pushing Baron Davis down) with his 32 points and 3 blocks on 8/13 shooting.
Line of the Night: Chris Bosh (6.10) took it home last night with 32 and 11, even making a three, while getting 3 steals and 4 blocks on the defensive end.
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Out of 192 players, Tyrus Thomas (4.25) ended up tied for 9th last night with Amare Stoudemire. How did he accomplish that? 5 blocks my friends. There is not much else in the line that I really want to look at, except that he got 26 minutes, which means that at least the Bulls are giving him some time now.
We have to jump down to number 23 before we encounter another Waiver Wire star. This one is Daniel Boobie Gibson (3.77). I’m not sure how Boobie’s 12/5/5 on 4/9 with 1 three translates into that high of a rank, but I guess the 3 steals help. Not sure that I’m picking him up if I really want to win, though.
Okay, I tried looking further down, and it’s just not happening.
The Biggest Loser: I want to point this one out because the following player achieved a score of 1.95, good for 144th place last night. This player is a free agent in the Dropping Dimes Experts League, but he is on a team playing for the championship in the GMTR Readers League. Lucky for Patrick, he is on the bench right now. This player is, Quentin Richardson, who shot 5/14 last night, grabbing a single rebound, and notching a single assist, while committing 2 turnovers. In his favor, he did make both of his free throws.
Tech Geek News: NBA.com is using Microsoft’s Silverlight instead of Adobe’s Flash. Not that there’s a problem, I guess. I’m sure the NBA got some incentive from M$ since they were already using their (a-diety-to-be-named-later-forsaken) Windows Media Player. (WMP works fine on the desktop, even for streaming on the desktop, but was never really made to be embedded in web pages)
Sorry this was kind of short, but my stats tell me no one reads this on Thursdays anyway. Of course, I suppose that could be my fault, and not necessarily the readers. Chicken, egg… who knows?
