Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima received an engagement ring Thursday night – her birthday – from basketball star Marko Jaric, his rep tells PEOPLE.

Not that anyone around here had a chance with Adriana Lima (or any other supermodel) anyway, being as we all live in our parents’ basements. I don’t even know if they made it to a year before getting engaged. I guess when you’re practically an old maid (Lima turned 27 on Thursday) it’s time to pick up the pace (like the Bulls will be doing next season).

I am, I'm a sham of a Celtics fan. I'm almost as bad as Bill Simmons, who threw the Celtics under the bus before the series even started . A couple more hours of Adriana Lima should help make the pain go away.
