13 man rosters would be 10 starting spots and 3 bench. I like having 3 bench spots.

In the league, I have four bench spots. Every team drafts 14, but have to drop one before the season starts. That free spot is then reserved for players on the IR.

So, the default starting 10, and three bench spots in a 14 team league = 182 players.

196 will be drafted, but 182 will remain on teams going into the season after the “player invited to camp” gets cut.

I agree with you that 13 players per team is ideal, i just didnt know if 182 was going too deep into the player pool

I think with 14 teams you can go to 182 players. If you do that, though, how many bench spots are you going to have? I am of the mind – not sure if this is based in any sort of statistical facts – that if you have more players being drafted, you also need more players being started. You should really have no more than 3 bench spots on a team, I say. That is usually enough to take care of injured players, and it makes it so that managers can’t just pick people up and let them languish on the bench.

Id like a little input if no one minds. I run a league of 14 managers. We had 12 man rosters last seasons, Id like to make it 13 man rosters.

If i go 12 man rosters by 14 teams, thats 168 players

If i go 13 man rosters by 14 teams, thats 182 players

The yahoo standard goes 156 deep. My question is this, Do you think 182 is too deep to be fun? Is there enough talent to go 182 deep or should i stick with 12 man rosters?
