Lines of the Night/Waiver Wire Lines of the Night: Paul Millsap (1.06) went all Incredible Hulk on us in the fourth quarter of the Jazz/Clippers game and scored 15 points in four minutes (finishing with 24 and 9). He responded after the game: “Is that what it was?” … and possibly “why am I only wearing a pair of ripped jeans?” We know that Millsap can be a beast on the court when he’s not fouling out of games, and yesterday he stayed away from foul trouble and got 32 minutes of play, more even than Boozer. While it’d be cool if this was a sign of things to come for Millsap, its likely just Jerry Sloan rising the hot hand for one game… You don’t take hulk out when he on scoring run.

It’s bad enough that the Warriors only scored 79 points last night, but did they really let Marc Gasol (1.04) run wild all over them? Gasol finished with 27 points off 9-11 shooting, 16 rebounds and 3 blocked shots (although he did have 6 TOs). Delonte West (1.03) has been starting for the Cavs and is putting up good numbers: 14/4/5 with 3 threes last night. Shannon Brown (0.96) got 26 minutes yesterday and scored 16 points with 4 steals. And Spencer Hawes (0.85) continues to look good (15 and 8 with 3 blocks). We’ll see what happens when Brad Miller returns.

Honorable Mentions: Some of the usual suspects had decent games as well. Lebron James (0.97) had 29/8/3 with 2 steals and a block (while going 13-15 from the line), while Dwight Howard (0.70) continues to do what he does, which is: 22 and 15 with 5 blocks and 36% from the free throw line.

    Trade of the Night:

Detroit acquires Allen Iverson from Denver in exchange for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb.

So the Pistons and Nuggets swap aging point guards in an attempt to mix things up for both teams. The trade seems like a good one for both sides, that is, if you completely ignore the salary implications of the trade. GMTR will give you the full fantasy breakdown of the trade, but here is my short version:

To Billups/Iverson owners: This shouldn’t change much
To Amir Johnson/Jason Maxiell/Walter Herrman owners: This shouldn’t change much, not nearly as much as you want it to.
To Rodney Stuckey owners: Don’t get your hopes up, at least not this year
    To JR Smith owners: F-you

Biggest Loser: For all the good things that Samuel Dalembert (-0.51) does, you do have to put up with the occasional 5 point and 6 rebound game from him. He also had 4 turnovers in 22 minutes on the court.

One of the quickest ways to the bottom of the fantasy scores is to shoot horribly. It’s like a double whammy, bad FG% along with no or close to no points. Jason Richardson (-0.27) obliged by scoring 4 points off 2-10 shooting. Jason Terry (-0.43) finished with 5 points off 1-8 shooting (adding 3 assists), and Ronnie Brewer (-0.26) was also 1-8 from the floor, finishing with 2 points and 2 boards.
