Day 18 of 170: Rasheed Wallace Doesn’t Want Anymore Undefeated Teams

Line of the Night: Joe Johnson (1.39). You were all wrong. But, in fairness, who would have thought so much fantasy goodness would have come out of the Hawks/Nets game? Johnson led Atlanta with 32 points (30 of that coming in the game’s second half), adding 9 boards, 5 assists and 2 steals. He was also 5-8 from behind the arc.

Honorable Mentions: Devin Harris (1.37) returned after missing three games with a sprained ankle to throw down a 30/6/8 line on the way to a Nets’ win; Ray Allen (1.17) isn’t quite fantasy toast yet – he finished last night’s game 5-10 from three and had 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists; Chris Paul (1.05) only had 17 points and 9 assists, but complemented that with 4 steals; and Rasheed Wallace (1.05) had 25 and 13 while going 4-9 from three as the Pistons gave the lakers their first loss of the season. Wallace is off to a hot start this year. The little secret why? He’s averaging 6 more minutes a game than last season. Is Detroit starting to panic a little?

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: The third best line of the night goes to Brook Lopez (1.27). With Josh Boone day-to-day with an ankle injury, Lopez got the start and saw 34 minutes. He finished with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Grab him if you can as long as Boone is out.

George Hill (0.51) is starting in place of Tony Parker. Don’t expect too much, but the minutes will be there.

The Biggest Loser: Me, for recommending you start Gerald Green (-0.29) on Thursday. In the two games following my recommendation, Green has COMBINED for 4 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in 24 minutes. The lesson, as always, is I have no idea what I’m talking about. And never trust Gerald Green.

Dishonorable Mentions: The Yi Jianlian (-0.37) roller coaster ride continues. A day after going for 11 and 8, Jianlian scored 3 points and had 4 rebounds in 19 minutes. And Tyson Chandler (-0.39) finished with 2 points, although he did have 7 boards.

All Eyez on Me: I’ll be keeping an eye on Golden State @ LA Clippers to see if Marcus Camby and Baron Davis can salvage a disastrous fantasy week for my teams.

But for those of you who aren’t sadomasochists, you’re better off watching New Orleans @ Houston. For what its worth, David West has three consecutive double-doubles against the Rockets. Not to be outdone, Chris Paul has five consecutive double-doubles against them. Also, expect a bounce back game from Tracy McGrady, who shot 2-12 in his last one.

And my vote for sneaky good fantasy game of the night is: Oklahoma City @ Philadelphia. OKC is third in the league in pace, while Phily is 10th, so expect a fast played game, even if it’s not always the prettiest thing to look at.
