"Zach will certainly try his hardest to take all 22, but if he doesnt, r davis and gordon will pick up the slack."

I shouldnt have said this. I was in the zone typing wise and wasnt thinking. Of course the extra shots left by mobley and thomas will be taken by thornton, randolph, davis, and kaman. However, I still think R davis is worth a flier and will see more than 5 shots a game.

Cont...

With mobley and tim thomas taking 22 shots a game between them, shots will be there. Zach will certainly try his hardest to take all 22, but if he doesnt, r davis and gordon will pick up the slack. That LAC bench looks terrible right now. Im interested to see what happens.

If davis sees 30 min:

11-3-3 with 1 stl FG 44% with 1 three.

One last thing, the clippers are obviously in win now mode. I know they will develop gordon, but they want to win now. There is no 2010 for the clippers.

Im in the minority here, and I really second guessed even posting this as it damages any credibility I may have. I believe ricky davis is the man to pick up. What i worry about is that r. davis is a head case and if he doestn start, hes not productive. Even if he gets 30 min off the bench. So, if ricky davis starts and sees 30 min/gm, then i say hes going to get you ricky davis #s, which wont be bad for the last spot on your roster.

If eric gordon starts, the minutes will still be there for ricky davis. He'll even get more shots with the LAC second unit. Id rather see davis come off the bench and be the "instant offense" than see davis start and compete for shots with thornton, baron davis, kaman, z randolph. Ok, so after typing all those names...a lot...*in a row...I thnk it would be best for davis to come off the bench. After all, who else would you want in the game while get buckets is hoisting up jumpers other than marcus camby?

I don't think he'll start either (not anymore), but- not to point out the obvious- when has defense kept anybody from getting minutes under D'Antoni? You're telling me that Leandro Barbosa was a lockdown guy? If he facilitates the offense (which he obviously does) and hits jumpers (which, again, he does) he'll see a legit role this season, with minutes close to or better than Mobley's.

Nate Robinson's problem isn't his skills or his ability to thrive in D'Antoni's system, it's his height. I just don't see how a Duhon/Nate Rob backcourt is a viable one from a defensive perspective. I do think he'll see an increase in minutes as Mobley < Crawford, but I don't think it'll be that great and I don't think Nate will start.

I'm still totally of the mind that Nate Robinson's minutes are on the way up. Maybe not up to 35+ like I thought before the Randolph trade, but, but definitely better than the 28 he's getting now. I mean, what else has to be done in NY to prove that D'Antoni plays the guys he likes for his system, regardless of age, experience or salary? And which player has shown better than Robinson an ability to excel in the run n' gun? We all like Wilson Chandler, but the answer is Nate Rob. Winning isn't an issue. The franchise isn't considering retaining Mobley after his deal runs out, but could conceivably want to extend Robinson. There are just too many reasons to believe he'll see an increase in value.
