So, I installed a the Zemanta plugin for Firefox the other day to see what kind of images and related posts it would pull up, and as soon as I started writing this post, there was this picture. I just found it funny because I hadn’t actually written anything yet.
Line of the Night: So Randy Foye decided to top the 1.00 mark last night with a 1.37. Not bad. How did he get there? He shot 8/12 including 3 threes, and had 14 assists. He also added 2 steals and a block. It was good enough for last night, but I’m fairly certainly Byron Scott would be less than mildly impressed.
Speaking of feeling randy… I just wanted to throw out a quick link to my girl Rachel’s new blog: Backside Potential. If you’ve been around long enough for the Rachel posts, then I’m sure you can guess what the blog is about. Rachel recently began helping push those record-high unemployment numbers even higher, so she asked me to help her set up the blog to give her something to do while she looked for a new gig. While I cannot condone clicking on Google Ads, I’m sure that she wouldn’t mind if you checked out her blog and clicked a link as some approximation of your appreciation.
Honorable Mentions: Ben Gordon‘s (0.99) 5 threes and 9/9 from the line were good enough to edge out even Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett last night. Nene Hilario (0.92) also had a nice game with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 blocks, while shooting an astonishing (for him) 87.5% from the line. Fellow Nugget Kenyon Martin (0.87) had 26 and 8 but really got juiced by the 10 of 10 from the field. Wonder if that would have LotN-worthy if he’d done better than 62.5% from the stripe? Is it any coincidence that they had those numbers against none other than the Chicago Bulls?
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: If Jason Thompson (0.67) is still available, he’s looking like a pretty strong candidate for Undrafted Fantasy Player of the Year (an award that I just made up right now).
Kelenna Azubuike (0.54) might still be available (he’s actually on Waivers in the GMTR Readers’ League) in some leagues, and is probably a decent pick up until Monta Ellis gets back and Jamal Crawford takes over at SG. Of course, this is the Warriors we’re talking about, so who knows?
The Biggest Loser: Allen Iverson (-0.47) was one of the main driving forces behind Detroits annihilation at the hands of the Timberwolves last night. Rip Hamilton (-0.31) was also pretty terrible, but it was Iverson who ended up at 93 out of 104 players last night. He shot 3/11 (27.5%) to end with 9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 turnovers.
All Eyez On Me: Looks like Carlos Boozer’s chance for LotN tonight, since Utah is playing Chicago.
We may get our first chance to see the New Look Clippers tonight, so keep an out as they take on the mildly impressive Chris Paul.
