Not to hawk on a commenter, but please DO NOT DROP ODEN. You will definitely find somebody willing to give you a player better than you could get in FA for his name/potential. He's just too well hyped and too tantalizing to fantasy owners in need of a 2nd center.

You might consider trading G-Ode plus a known player who's hurting your FG% in order to serve your needs. Offering a 2-for-1 (or 2-for-2, adding the worst player on the other team to finish the deal and then immediately dropping them) lets you add by subtracting- increase your FG% by losing a "decent" player and bolster it with a good FA/trade pickup. Anyway, I really like Thompson and Gasol for your purposes in this case. And I also believe that Oden will be okay, but he'll also foul an awful lot and not be on the court. I say work a deal. But seriously, DO NOT drop him.

Thanks, Nels and Patrick. I guess that's the smart thing to do--I've tried to chase the game in the past with constant adds and drops, and never seem to have gotten anywhere.

My FG% is really what's killing me.

If you've already got Brand and Bynum, I'd keep Oden around. I think as the season goes on, he'll get more PT and start playing better than he is now. As for those other guys: Przybilla's fortunes are obviously tied inversely to that of Oden's. Drew Gooden is a viable option, though it really scares me to say that. Haslem isn't consistent enough, and doesn't have the upside Oden does. Millsap is only as good as Carlos Boozer is injured. Varejao isn't very consistent (which I guess isn't that big a deal in a daily lineup changes league). Gasol is probably worth looking at since he has an upside similar to that of Oden. Thompson will probably continue to be good, but when Francisco Garcia, Kevin Martin, and Mikki Moore come back, they'll eat into his minutes enough to probably make you want Oden back.

Personally, I'd keep Oden unless he gets seriously hurt. In the games he's gotten good minutes, he's been good to great.
