Line of the Night: Statistically, Basketball Monster might not think it’s the best game of last night, but I do, and that’s what really matters. This one goes to Rajon Rondo (1.04), who had the first triple-double of his career – and it was an insane one – with 16/13/17. KG had this to say about Rondo after the game:

It was like there was three Rondos. I looked up and it came off the rim and he is grabbing a rebound, then I got back on defense and he beat me back. He was everywhere tonight.

Honorable Mentions: A Boston-heavy list today: Kevin Garnett (1.44) had 26 points off 11-14 shooting, while adding 14 boards and 4 blocks. Lebron James (1.38) only played 28 minutes as the Cavs beat down the Knicks 118-82, but he still managed a line of 21/5/6 with 5 steals; David West (1.11) had 23 and 14 and was 10-10 from the line; and Ray Allen (1.1) scored 31 points and hit 6 threes.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: With Mickael Pietrus out for the next month, rookie Courtney Lee (0.68) has started to get some play for Orlando. Last night Lee got 34 minutes off the bench (J.J. Reddick started and did absolutely nothing) and scored 19 points off 8-10 shooting while hitting 3 threes. Leave Lee in the free agent pool unless he shows the world he can repeat that kind of performance at least once.

Dan Gadzuric (0.63) pulled an 11 points, 14 boards and 3 block game out of his ass for the Bucks in 21 minutes off the bench. He was starting last week while Andrew Bogut was out and couldn’t put up those kind of numbers. He’s also Dan Gadzuric, so let him be.

Another One Bites the Dust: Say bub-bye to Sam Mitchell, who was fired by the Raptors after their 132-93 loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday night. Assistant Jay Triano, who will be the first Canadian head coach in NBA history, will take over for Smitch. Keep an eye on how this affects Toronto’s rotation.

Biggest Loser: I’ll admit, I really thought Chris Duhon’s (-0.67) had no shot to be even half as good as he has been so far this season. He’s currently averaging over 8 assists and a steal a game and is 52 on the GMTR player rater. And while it remains to be seen if he can keep it up, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt today and consider last night’s game – 6 points off 1-9 shooting, 4 assists and 6 turnovers – nothing more than an off night for a (good?) player. He can now return to dishing out 22 assists a game.

All Eyez on Me: Two games tonight:

Phoenix (11-8) at Dallas (9-8): Steve Nash is questionable for the game with flu-like symptoms. If Nash sits, expect Leandro Barbosa to have another decent game.

San Antonio (9-8) at Denver (13-6); Denver has been on fire since Billups has joined the team, so I guess we can officially call him the answer. Billups has averaged 19 points, 7 assists and 2+ threes a game since joining the Nuggets.

Other Stuff Like This:

  • I'm not saying Duhon's an especially GOOD player, but he meshes pretty well with D'Antoni's system and will continue to be a good (not great) fantasy player as long as he's starting and handling the ball in NY.
