Line of the Night: This is why you draft Tracy McGrady (1.14) around #60 (his average draft position on Yahoo). Right now he’s at #81 on the Player Rater, but he’s been out a while already, so he should be climbing. Especially with nights like last night where he had a big Trip Dub with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. He also had a steal and 3 blocks. And if you average that out with the games he missed… well, you know what you’re getting with T-Mac.

Honorable Mentions: Right behind T-Mac was Brandon Roy (1.13), who I believe has yet to get an actual LotN. Roy finished last night with 29 points, making all 15 of this free throws. DJ Augustin (1.00) benefited from a questionable foul call near the end of the game to get some extra free throws in, and send the game to overtime. He ended with 29 points, 7 assists and 4 threes. He only shot 37% from the field, but made all of his 13 free throws. Kobe Bryant (0.99) was quick on the heels of Augustine with 28/7/6 and 4 steals. He did not make all of his free throws.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Tyrus Thomas (0.73) had his second good game in a row, which means he’ll probably disappear for a few games now. Thomas had 22 and 9 with 2 blocks.

Derek Fisher (0.54) is not quite as explosive as Thomas, but also a slight bit more consistent. Last night, Fish had 15 points with 2 threes and 7 assists.

I’m not sure what people are thinking, but Eric Gordon (0.48) is still only owned in 27% of Yahoo leagues. I guess only about 27% of people on Yahoo read GMTR.

The Biggest Loser: Obviously, Michelle Aguilar (-45.45%). Followed closely by Derrick Rose (-0.43), who did manage to add 5 rebounds and 7 assists to his craptacular 3/16 shooting. But you have to take the good and bad with every player. Except Chris Paul.

All Eyez On Me: Boston heads to Atlanta in a rematch of last year’s nearly disastrous (for the Celtics) first-round series. No Josh Childress this time around, though.

LeBron James should have something of a field day against the Timberwolves. Probably a LotN candidate unless they just totally blow them out.

And look for another Danny Grangerlicious line as the Pacers up the pace to play Golden State. Always good fantasy times when the Warriors come around.

I know you like to use Basketball Monster's stats and stuff, but do you also have keep using their incorrect spelling of DJ Augustin? There's no E on the last name, despite how it's pronounced.

Funny you mention that because I actually thought to myself "I could have sworn it was Augustin." And then I looked back at the Basketball Monster page and there it was with the E on the end. I've fixed it in the post now.

So… who do I drop to pick up Eric Gordon? Chalmers? Kevin Martin? Sam Dalembert? I considered Kendrick Perkins, but he's huge for me on the boards & blocked shots (categories I'm doing fairly well in thanks to that).

Actually, I guess I'll drop Perkins for him…

Perkins would be the guy to drop out of the players you mentioned.

  • seanlb

    clutch easter egg.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/nelswadycki Nels

I'd go with Dalembert. Perkins is playing well right now. Kevin Martin should be good when he comes back, and Chalmers is improving.

Is Elton Brand ever going to stop sucking?

9-cat H2H league. Wanna pick up a PG. Here are the choices:
    Felton
    Stuckey
    Chalmers
    Westbrook
    Blake
    Fernandez

    Thanks!

Felton has the highest value right now on the GMTR Player Rater.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/nelswadycki Nels

I hope so. I had really high expectations for him this season (if you've been reading since August, you probably know that). Luckily, I didn't actually get to draft him in any of my leagues.

  • seanlb

    no. heh.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/nelswadycki Nels

Solely on total value, yes I would do that trade. But considering that Granger is clearly the best player in the trade, and it's hard to know if Harris will keep playing like he has this season, I probably would not actually take that trade.

  • Evan

And after I post that, he dislocates his shoulder.

And he's on Yahoo's can't cut list. This might actually be a good thing for me, because I'm so pissed off, I want to cut him, but I know he'll have some good games. Doesn't mean I'm any happier taking him in the first round of my draft (luckily I got Granger in the 2nd rd).

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/biggs0 Patrick

I think Mario Chalmers is ranked higher than Felton on the rater, but based on recent performance, you can't go with anyone other than Stuckey. In fact , I'm surprised he's still available.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/biggs0 Patrick

Deep breaths Evan. Although, I'm not sure that Brand is ever going to be worth a first round pick again, which sucks, because like you, I got him in the first round of one league.

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/BrendanK BrendanK

Yeah, but I feel sort of similar about Josh Howard as you do about Harris. At his top-dollar best, he's a good all-around guy who's better in roto. Harris is at least the Man on his own team, won't be traded (still possible with J-Ho), and is about to make the ASG. Sean, you kind of suck. :)

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/BrendanK BrendanK

Solely on total value, if I offered you Devin Harris and Rudy Gay for Danny Granger and Josh Howard, you'd do that trade, right?

And, to S Dizzle: Best all-around is Stuckey.
