Line of the Night: Jameer Nelson (1.28). 22/5/7 with 4 threes is a nice game, but it seems a little pedestrian for a LotN. Well, that is until you realize that Nelson didn’t miss a shot all night as he went 9-9 from the floor, including 4-4 from the aforementioned three point line. Nelson has put together a solid run of games since returning from injury on Dec 5th and he now sits at 28 on the GMTR player rater. 28! I wasn’t expecting to see that.

Honorable Mentions: Yao Ming (1.26) had 24 points, 16 boards and 4 blocks as he took out Yi and the Nets; Chris Bosh (1.03) scored 31 and filled up the box score with a whole bunch of other stuff (including 2 threes); and old man Jermaine O’Neal (0.98) had 23 and 9 with 5 blocked shots. It’s no surprise then that Toronto smoked the Clippers last night 97-75.
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Rafer Alston is still out for the Rockets, so Aaron Brooks (0.96) got another start and balled his way to a career-high 22 points, hit 4-7 from three and adding 6 assists. Like we said the other day, Brooks’ value will be short lived, but it’s tough not to notice his frequent appearances on the GMTR rundown.
In case anyone in your league dropped him while he was out (and he’s only owned in 37% of Yahoo leagues right now), Mickael Pietrus (0.53) is back after missing about a month with a torn ligament in his thumb; Anthony Randolph (0.48) had the second double-double of his career with 11 points and 12 boards after Brandan Wright got in some early foul trouble. Maybe Randolph will get more consistent minutes as the Warriors continue to suck, but for now leave him as a free agent; and I’m not actually recommending anyone pick up Chris Andersen (0.38), but last night he blocked 6 shots in 21 minutes.
The Biggest Loser: Keith Bogans (-0.55) for actively defying one of the scared rules of fantasy basketball: starter + minutes = worth having on our fantasy team. Not everyone can be Chris Paul on the court, but dammit Bogans DO SOMETHING OUT THERE!
Andris Biedrins (-0.37) also had a relative weak game for him, scoring 5 points on 2-9 shooting and (gasp) not blocking a shot for the second straight game.
All Eyez on Me: A strong 12 games today, which means you can even get your Washington (4-21) at Charlotte (9-19) on if you’re so inclined. And watch out Wizards, Charlotte may actually have an offense now (thank Boris Diaw?) as they’ve scored 100+ points in the past 3 games.
But no, the actual game to watch is Los Angeles (22-5) at New Orleans (16-7), which will likely feature the return of Peja!
Denver (18-10) at Portland (17-11) – Melo is out for a few games with a right elbow contusion, which likely means very good things for JR Smith. Steve Blake has also strung together a decent start to the year after most of the fantasy “experts†left him for dead.
