If you look at the GMTR player rater today, you’ll notice two things have changed. First – and without a doubt the most important – we have a new number 1 player in the word of fantasy.* After countless days on top of the world, Chris Paul concedes his throne to King James. It’s not that Paul has been anything but superhuman lately, it’s that LeBron has been absolutely on fire this past week – averaging a 29/13/8 in his past three games. He’s also shored up the only weak part of his game – as he’s now shooting 78% from the line on the year, an improvement of 7% compared to last year.

The other change to the player rater is that – in addition to a player’s overall rating – I’ve finally included a rating for a player over their team’s last 10 games.** These two columns (one for the 8-cat and one for one for the 9-cat ratings) are labeled “LAST10” and allow you to see if a guy is trending up or down over the last 3 or so weeks. For example, Devin Harris started out the year hot and as a result has an 8-cat rating of 1.7, good for 16th on the year. But he’s struggled with his game and injuries lately and in the Nets last 10 games, his rating is -2.5, good for about 96th in the league.

That is all.

* Technically, The King is the king only in 8 category leagues. If you include turnovers, then CP3 is still ranked slightly higher than Lebron.
** As usual, thanks to Dougsstats for the stats. I’ve never met Doug, but the man clearly deserves come type of award.
