Looking at the Lines of the Night from last night, I can tell you that the most interesting thing to happen in the NBA yesterday was the announcement of the All Star Starting Lineups. They really have nothing to do with fantasy basketball, but here they are (in fantasy basketball lineup order):

    West
    Chris Paul
    Kobe Bryant
    Amare Stoudemire
    Tim Duncan
    Yao Ming

    East
    Allen Iverson
    Dwyane Wade
    LeBron James
    Kevin Garnett
    Dwight Howard

I guess the Chinese are finally getting over the Yao Ming phenomenon, as Dwight Howard led all vote getters and Ming ended up only 6th overall (if my quick scan of the numbers is correct). Of course, what does it say about the voting process when Gilbert Arena gets more votes than Derrick Rose. Really? And where were the Lakers voters? Kobe got 2.8 million votes, but Pau Gasol got less than a million, and Andrew Bynum got less than 600,000.

Line of the Night: So, Andrew Bynum (0.77) bested 41 other players with his 23 points (67% FG, 88% FT) and 14 rebounds.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: JaVale McGee (0.74) is back to be only owned in 2% of Yahoo leagues. He made the other 98% of leagues look bad by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Okay, so not really. That was the first time he’d played over 20 minutes in more than a month. So, look for another good game from him in Feburary or March.

The Biggest Loser: Andray Blatche (-0.44) is only owned in 39% of leagues, but I’m going to say that close enough fro today. Blatche started for the Wizards and played 24 minutes, going 2-9 from the field for 5 points, adding 4 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, and 2 turnovers.

All Eyez On Me: Nothing that looks quite as good as yesterdays Celtics v. Magic game… I will be at the Raptors @ Bulls game tonight, though, so that’s what I’ll be viewing. If I had a choice, I might watch tonight’s Golden Ticket game: Cleveland @ Golden State. LeBron James has the opportunity for a monster game, as, of course, do the rest of the Cavs.

Today’s Debbie Downer: I just heard on the news that in some Chicago High School basketball games where the schools have a history of rivalry, fans will not be allowed to attend the game. By rivalry, of course, we’re not talking Boston v. Los Angeles or Yankees v. Red Sox. Unless you want to abstract the blue from the Yankees and the red from the Sox into something that would concern the police.

If the Chinese were really voting in full force like they used to, then Yi Jianlian, Sun Yue, and David Lee would all be All-star game starters. I see they've read my post and play fantasy basketball as well or someone found out that Di Wai Ha Wah has some Chinese ancestry deep in his family's Genealogy. Just kidding, the man deserves it!

For the record, I did not vote for any Chinese players.

And I think David Lee is actually of Korean decent. I'll check it out.

I look forward to the day when Allen Iverson is no longer an "all-star"
