I might have to set Yahoo Sports to my home page so I will make sure I see these roster warnings every day. I didn’t know they did that until today. Oh, please don’t go out of business Yahoo…
Speaking of fantasy tools, SignAndTrade.com has seven different fantasy analysis tools. I’ve had the email sitting in my inbox for way too long, but I wanted to actually try them out before recommending them. They’re a little Web 1.0-looking, but they work. So, that’s that.
Line of the Night: Okay, so my title pun doesn’t really work, but since Gino’s line wasn’t all the Gino-mite anyway, I’ll forgive myself. You don’t have to, though. Manu (1.01) had 30 and 9. He had 3 assists and 2 steals, but the reason he topped the chart last night was the 18 free throws he made (out of 18 attempts).
Honorable Mentions: Dwight Howard (0.82) had 22 and 18 with 2 steals and 2 blcoks. Amare Stoudemire (0.58) had 28 and 10 with a steal and a block. Steve Nash (0.49) had 16 points and 18 assists.
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Grant Hill (0.57) had 20 and 10 with a steal and a block. However, he violated both of our WW rules in that he is owned in 56% of Yahoo leagues, and he shot 75% from the field. Pretty close those in both tests.
If Hill isn’t available, then take a look at JJ Hickson (0.37). He plays for Cleveland (in case you hadn’t heard of him – I am man enough to admit that I hadn’t). Hickson had 13 and 7 with a steal and a block, and is owned in only 1% of leagues and shot 67%. Is he the next DeAndre Jordan? Well, let’s remember that only 37 players even saw court time last night, so it’s not like it’s the biggest of sample sizes.
The Biggest Loser: Well, Shaq (-0.48) may be an All Star, but the coaches may want to reconsider after his 13 point, 6 rebound performance last night because who wants someone shooting 36% from the field and 60% from the line on their All Star team? That’s gonna hurt your Big Ball team’s FG% category.
All Eyez On Me: Wow there’s a lot of games tonight. Despite falling off, Detroit still brings a 25-19 record into their game against Boston tonight. I mean, after the Big 3 in the East, who is going to be more dangerous in the playoffs than Detroit? Okay, probably the 4 seed that they’ll play if they remain in the 5th place, Atlanta.
I’m looking for LeBron James to manhandle the Clippers for another triple-double.
Sacramento will be hosting Chicago, and since Drew Gooden is still out, let’s make room for Brad Miller and Spencer Hawes. Of course, the way the rest of the Bulls are playing, Kevin Martin might have a LotN performance too.
The Golden Ticket: Chris Paul will have a good opportunity for another triple-double tonight when the Hornets host the Warriors.
In honor of last night’s TNT double-header Line of the Night:
