Upon request, here is the rundown for the NBA All-Star game, GMTR style. Since Basketball Monster doesn’t spit out the game scores for the all-star game, I had to break out my reverse engineering skills to recreate the BM scores using only the info I had (as well as a paperclip, some dental floss, and a turkey baster). Just like the fake Adidas sneakers my mom used to buy me when I was a kid, the results are great as long as you don’t look directly at them.
Line of the Night: Kobe and Shaq may have shared the all-star MVP award, but Shaq (-0.17) was the show and Kobe (1.52) was the substance. Kobe really did have the best all-star performance by far, scoring 27 points off 12-23 shooting, hitting 3 threes and adding 4 boards, 4 assists, and 4 steals as the West destroyed the East, 146-119.

Honorable Mentions: Chris Paul (1.00) had the second best line of the game, scoring 14 points and dishing out 14 assists, while Pau Gasol (0.71) came in third with 14 and 8. The top player for the East was Dwyane Wade (0.43), who scored 18 points with 5 assists and 3 steals, although the fake BM ratings dinged him quite hard for going “only” 4 of 7 from the line. Remove the egregious free throw shooting and he finishes with a more respectable 0.83 score on the night.
The Biggest Loser: Joe Johnson (-2.29) had about a bad an all-star game as is humanly possible. He missed all 4 shots he took (including going 0-3 from three), had no points, rebounds, assists, steals, or blocks, and turned the ball over 5 times.
Here is the complete list of players and their fantasy scores for the all-star game.

All Eyez on Me: With the all-star break over, the NBA regular season is set to begin again with a pretty uninspiring set of games tonight.
Charlotte (21-31) at Orlando (38-13) – Is Vlad Rad now a viable fantasy pickup? With Gerald Wallace out, Vlad Rad got the start in only his second game with the Bobcats and responded with 5 threes. Even though he won’t be starting for long, he should get on the court long enough to hoist up the three ball.
New Orleans (30-20) at Oklahoma City (13-40) – Kevin Durant had a pretty good weekend – he scored a record 46 points in the Rookie challenge and then won the H-O-R-S-E competition on Saturday. One of the more interesting questions going into next year will be how high do you draft him? Fourth? Higher? And the worst good player in the league, Tyson Chandler may or may not be back for this game.
Milwaukee (26-29) at Detroit (27-24) – with the Bucks hurting, maybe it’s time to take a look at Charlie Bell for the stretch run. Bell isn’t going to continue to shoot 65% from the floor like he has the past couple games, but like Vlad, the minutes will be there. That’s a pretty weak recommendation, but it’s one o’clock at the bar and the women aren’t getting any prettier.
