Line of the Night: Dwyane Wade (1.74). Besides losing to Sebastian Telfair and the Timberwolves, Wade had about as good an all around game as a guy not named LeBron James can have, with 37 points, 12-22 shooting, 12 assists, 4 boards, 4 steals, a block and a three.
Honorable Mentions: I got to watch a little of the Hornets/Magic game last night and I’m still trying to think if I’ve seen anyone with less ability to guard Chris Paul (1.54) than Anthony Johnson. Paul finished with 36 points, 10 assists, and 3 steals in 33 minutes; Can’t say I expected Kirk Hinrich (1.17) to appear on this list in the year 2009, but thanks to a trade-shortened bench, Hinrich played 33 minutes, hit 5-8 three pointers and finished with 31 points; Phoenix is back to running an up-temp offense under interim coach Alvin Gentry. That’s very, very, very good news for Amare Stoudemire (1.11) – provided he isn’t traded – who had 42 points off 15-20 shooting and 11 rebounds.
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Get your retread veteran guards here! Two for the price of one! Sebastian Telfair (0.96) had his best game… probably ever, as he shot 6-10 from three, scoring 30 points with 8 assists. His recent game log is mildly respectable if you can deal with the turnovers; and oh, those poor Clipper fans. Freddie Jones (0.94) is currently the first guy off the bench for them. Against the Suns, he shot 6-9 on the night (4-6 from three) and scored 20 points in 30 minutes on the court.
Telfair credits his good play in yesterday’s game to a meeting with Kevin McHale. Quoting Telfair about the meeting, “He asked us if we were going to be pros or punks,” Telfair said. “We decided to be pros.”
Injury of the Night: Noted GMTR stud Danny Granger left last night’s game after spraining his right foot in the second quarter. He didn’t return and is scheduled to have an MRI today.

The Biggest Loser: T.J. Ford (-0.79). Your run of the mill bad game – 2-9 shooting, 6 points, and 5 turnovers for Ford as the Pacers lost to the Bobcats, 104-93.
All Eyez on Me: Two games tonight, starting with San Antonio (35-17) at Detroit (27-25). The Spurs will likely be without Manu Ginobili, who missed their last game with a sore right ankle. Roger Mason got the start in his place and hit 3 threes on his way to 20 points.
Boston (44-11) at Utah (31-23) – I was in attendance the last time these guys played each other this past December and I remember Paul Millsap going absolutely nuts in that game. Looking back at the box score, sure enough he had 32 points and 10 boards. And I had forgotten that Rondo almost had a triple-double, with 25/9/8. While a healthier Deron Williams might slow down Rondo a little more in this game, there’s no reason to think that Millsap can’t abuse the C’s again tonight.
