Line of the Night: The Phoenix fantasy train isn’t just for people who can run up and down the court fast, as Shaquille O’Neal (1.25) demonstrated last night. O’Neal plowed his way to 45 points on 20-25 shooting, adding 11 boards and 3 steals. He also went a respectable 5-8 from the line. Chris Bosh, one of the guys who struggled to guard Shaq, accused the big man of camping out in the lane most of the night. I think the more effective accusation would be that his ass is so big it just won’t quit. There is just no effective defense against big ass.

Shaq and Kobe

Honorable Mentions: Lebron James (1.24) hung a 30/14/4 line on the Spurs in only 32 minutes; and Ray Allen (1.22) hit 6 threes on his way to 30 points against the Pacers.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Louis Amundson (0.96). Everyone’s favorite power forward not named Amare Stoudemire recorded a double-double for the Suns, scoring 20 points with 10 boards and 4 blocks. This was the first time that Amundson played over 20 minutes since Amare went down (and the first time he’s had more than 2 rebounds) so I wouldn’t exactly run out to pick him up just yet.

I know we’ve been waiting all year for this. Stephon Marbury is back, baby. Playing in his first game all season, Marbury had 8 points, 2 assists, and 1 steal in 13 minutes on the court. I wouldn’t get too excited about his fantasy prospects unless Rondo gets hurt, because that 13 minutes is exactly what the Celtics signed him to do. Whether that is what Marbury thinks he’ll be doing is another much more interesting story.

The Biggest Loser: Mike Bibby (-0.41). Granted, Bibby was coming off the flu, which caused him to miss the Hawks previous game. But if you’re sick man then don’t play. Bibby only managed 19 minutes in this game, going 0-7 from the field and finishing with 0 points, 2 boards, and 2 assists.

All Eyez on Me: Orlando (42-16) at Philadelphia (29-28). With the Celtics, Cavs, Lakers and Spurs all off today, this is probably the best game going. How has Rafer Alston been playing since being traded at the deadline? Pretty much like you’d expect. Take some bad shooting performances (4-12 against the Bulls last Tuesday) and add in some nice steal and decent assist numbers and you have his game. It translates anywhere.

New York (24-34) at Miami (30-27) – Dwyane Wade + the Knicks = very good things.

Sacramento (13-47) at Utah (35-23) – Your sneaky good fantasy game of the day. The Kings are allowing their opponents to score 108.8 points on average, while the Jazz have scored an average of 107 a game since the all-star break. Boom goes the dynamite.
