Line of the Night: Dwight Howard or Shaq? Kobe? Chauncey Billups even? No, last night belonged to Troy Murphy (1.45), who led Indiana to a win over the Kings with 23 and 10 adding 6 assists, 4 threes, 2 steals and 2 blocks. In case you don’t have a shrine in your house dedicated to Troy Murphy like Nels, it was his eight straight double-double and his third game in a row where he went for at least 20 and 10 with 2 blocks.

Rockets Pacers Basketball

Honorable Mentions: Andrea Bargnani (1.26) is making the Jermaine O’Neal experiment look worse than it actually was, if that is even possible. Bargnani had 25 points, 7 boards, was 5-6 for three and had 3 blocks against the Rockets; and Marc Gasol (1.04) won the epic battle of the Gasol’s with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks. Pau won the war however, as the Lakers beat the Grizzles 99-89 thanks to Kobe’s (0.59) 31 points.

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: If you’re in a relatively shallow league and didn’t follow Nels’ advice on Monday, then Jarrett Jack (0.93) is still your man. He scored 26 points with 7 rebounds and 4 steals for the Pacers. If you pick him up, he will fulfill your wildest dreams over the last quarter of the season.

With Luol Deng out with a bruised tibia, Tyrus Thomas (0.65) played 37 minutes and was one of the lone bright spots as the Bulls got beatdown by the Bobcats. He finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks; And props to Travis Diener (0.78), who went 5-6 from three and finished with 18 points in 21 minutes. Now back to your regularly scheduled 10 minutes a game.

The Biggest Loser: A day after singing the praises of Charlie Bell (-0.74), he goes and has a 0/1/1 line and turns the ball over 3 times in only 13 minutes for the Bucks. The lack of minutes come as a bit of a surprise since he was averaging about 30 a game prior to that. He should bounce back tonight, but it’s a situation to keep an eye on if you were one of the unlucky bastards to pick him up this week.

All Eyez on Me: Phoenix (34-26) at Miami (31-28) – The Shaq reunion tour ends tonight in Miami. What are the chances Dwyane Wade goes for 40+ points for the third game in a row? 90%? 95?

Atlanta (34-26) at New York (24-35) – Larry Hughes is now starting for the Knicks, pushing Nate Robinson and his hot hand back to the bench. Hughes has actually been decent in the Knicks last two games, with games of 19 and 25 points. The minutes are going to be there for him, so Hughes could be a decent pickup for the stretch if you can deal with the poor FG%.

Washington (14-46) at Oklahoma City (15-45). OKC looks to win their third game in a row without Kevin Durant in the lineup. Look for Russell Westbrook to again lead the team (another triple-double maybe?). And looking at that OKC roster, how is Nick Collision not stepping up? Your going to let Nenad Krstic lead outplay you Nick? You really want to do that?

The Golden Ticket: Golden State (21-39) at Chicago (27-34). The Bulls have a shot at redemption against the Warriors. Hopefully it means better scoring nights for Ben Gordon (6-15 against the Bobcats), Derrick Rose (3-11), and John Salmons (4-13). Don’t expect Luol Deng to play in this one.

Are we ready to officially elevate Ty Thomas from "inconsistent waiver fill-in" to "good enough for somebody to own in standard leagues"?

It looks like Thomas has been consistent enough over the past month to give him that upgrade. But I'd like to know what Nels thinks, since he's probably been burned enough times by Thomas to have some proper prospective.

I'm ready to say he's good enough to pick up and play. But, anyone doing that needs to also be ready to drop him like he's hot if his minutes and production start to drop.
