Line of the Night: Okay, so it wasn’t technically a duel, I don’t think, but Ben Gordon (1.59) did pretty much everything you could as for as a Player Rater: he scored 34 points (on 4 threes, 52.6% FG, and 10-11 FTs), had 4 rebounds and 7 assists, and got 4 steals and a block. And for the Bulls, he also overcame a WWLotN-worthy performance by Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (1.23, see below).
Honorable Mentions: Steve Nash (1.28) was second without taking a free throw (I guess the theory is that he still isn’t hurting your FT%. He also had 32 points and 13 assists.
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (1.23) played 39 minutes for the Bucks last night, scoring 21 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and getting 5 steals. Unfortunately, he shot 88% from the field, which would normally disqualify him, but since Patrick is on vacation and the next guy you might want from Free Agency is DJ Mbenga, who was only number 18 on the night, and also shot 80% from the field, I’m just going to stick with LRMaM for now.
The Biggest Loser: Technically, it’s Tim Duncan (-0.50) who only played 18 minutes before getting the rest of the night off against the Wizards. Unfortunately for Duncan owners who have been riding his Top 30 season… that ranking is probably going to slip further and further as he gets rested more and more in preparation for the playoffs. I mean, we only have 39 days left, and San Antonio only plays 21 more games.
All Eyez On Me: After losing to Boston, Cleveland heads to Miami to face a team that is actually kind of getting their act together. And of course, LeBron James vs. Dwyane Wade couldn’t hurt.
The Golden Ticket: Golden State will play against Milwaukee (who’s going back-to-back tonight). Not sure if that’s good for your Bucks players or not, since they’ll be running up and down the floor without any rest from last night’s game. Of course, the Warriors are in the same situation after losing to Detroit last night (scoring a meager 91 points).
New York, on the other hand, will be at least a little fresh as they take on Charlotte (who are playing back-to-back). FantasyBasketball.com is saying it’s time for Larry Hughes and you have to kind of think they might be right about that one. As we always say, Mike D’Antoni is the Midas of fantasy basketball. (Okay, I don’t think we’ve ever actually said that exact phrase before, but I think it’s probably the most appropriate thing that’s ever been said on this blog)
