Line of the Night: How do you follow up a triple-double performance? Lebron James (1.82) does it by, oh, dropping 51 on the Kings (which short of another triple-double, is about the best way you can follow up). James also hit 4 threes, dished 9 assists and had 2 steals and 3 blocks to bring home the LotN for the second straight day.
Honorable Mentions: Chris Paul (1.3) scored 30 with 9 assists and 4 steals for the second best fantasy line of the night; and Jason Kidd (1.19) had a triple-double of his own with 21/10/11 against the Warriors. He was also 5-8 from three.
Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Leon Powe (1.14). Powe, filling in for the injured Big Baby Davis, who before he got hurt was filling in for the injured KG, took advantage of his 41 minutes on the court and exploded for 30 points, 11 boards and 5 blocks. Powe is capable of putting up double-double type numbers when he gets the minutes, but Davis and KG are both expected be back on the court sometime next week, so Powe’s ride may come to an early stop.

Guys Who Looked Like Better Pickups Before I Started Writing Them Up: Mickael Pietrus (1.03) got his second start in a row because of a Hedo Turkoglu injury. Against the Wizards, he put up a 21/11/6 line in 40 minutes. Turkoglu is expected to return for the Magic’s next game, so Pietrus’ value will be gone as fast as it came; and Nicolas Batum (0.84) has been starting for the Blazers but only getting about 18-20 minutes a game. But yesterday he got a huge 32, and scored a career-high 20 points off 7-8 shooting.
The Biggest Loser: Putting aside Andris Biedrins (-0.56), who sprained his ankle 8 minutes into the Warriors/Mavs game and looks to be out for a while, we’ll give this one to Josh Smith (-0.35). Smith put up a line we’ve been seeing a little too much from him this year – 10 points on 3-9 shooting, 5 boards, and 2 assists in 26 minutes on the court. It’s not a bad line, if it came from Zaza Pachulia or something, but not from a guy who was a second/third round pick on average this year.
All Eyez on Me: Utah (41-24) at Miami (35-29) – Dwyane Wade is must watch television at this point. I’m going to guess he improves upon his 32 points on 9-20 shooting game that came against the Celtics on Wednesday.
San Antonio (43-21) at Houston (43-24) – I just listed to the Bill Simmons podcast with Rockets GM Daryl Morey. I’d recommend it to any basketball fan as Morley is pretty damn open and honest about the Rockets plans and his approach to the team. In the podcast, both Simmons and Morley mention the Rockets match up well against a team like the Spurs, so we’ll get to see if they’re right.
Oklahoma City (18-47) at Phoenix (34-31) – With no Golden State playing today, your best chance for an orgasmic fantasy performance comes out of this game. Kevin Durant may return for this one, but Jeff Green is probably a better bet to have a good game.
